Trailer
Frankly speaking, just watching the trailer is enough to disappoint. The main plot of the story can be basically guessed based on the content revealed in the trailer. So after you watch the trailer, you can position it as a boring superhero movie (but who knows that it is not as boring as a boring superhero movie in the end), rather than what Shirou is authentic, what Oshii Mamoru or Kamiyama Kenji related thing. Of course it doesn't matter, tribute or re-enactment is not the focus of creation after all.
Director
The director of the film was nominated for the most scumbag director for the famous "Snow White and the Hunter" title. Even self-heavy can prove the audience's evaluation of this person. To put it simply, you have reason to believe that this person simply does not have the ability to make the real-life version of Ghost in the Shell, which cost 100 million US dollars, look good. In the end, the facts proved that there was indeed no such thing.
At the box office,
it is a very understandable thing that the film won 30 million in the box office at a cost of 110 million U.S. dollars. Based on this, it can be judged that a lot of the washing of the film is open-eyes and nonsense. For example, "If you haven't watched Ghost in the shell, you will think this movie is very beautiful", "The film focuses on visual effects and simpler stories in order to cater to a wider audience", and so on. Of course, there are many box offices in history that have been regarded as martyrs of classics handed down in the following years. But look at this broken story, is it really possible to rank among these masterpieces?
Starring
I think Scarlett Johansson fits well in appearance, and it's ridiculous that Motoko Kusanagi has become a white female and it is difficult to accept. In terms of the plot of the movie, this white female body is named Mira Kylian, which is logically self-consistent. But her legs are a bit short, not suitable for optical camouflage long trousers. In addition, it is said that she herself does not want to play this role. But I think this is not the reason for her to portray this role as a PTSD patient after being raped. Look at the frightened deer-like eyes that lasted almost the entire film—maybe cute—but it was really puzzling how she understood the character.
The story is that
ordinary people were transformed/trained into superhumans by the evil organization and used, and then guided by key clues to retrieve their own memories and the truth of the matter, and counterattack the evil organization. There is nothing new about such a simple plot line, but it won't make a big mistake if it is done. But the attack on the shell is still full of slots. The combat ability of Mila Shaozo, known as the most perfect and strongest weapon, is a mystery, which makes the villain's behavior particularly unrealistic. In the first battle of the restaurant raid, you can play the role of soy sauce in the opening scene; in the bar, if the other party is known to be suspicious of you, you have to pretend that you are weak and be abused first. Is this a habit? Kuse’s hideout was surrounded by low-level combatants who looked like a mess, and was helpless. Here comes the biggest slot. As a defective product, his abilities, wrists, and mobility are so much stronger than the so-called perfect Mira Shaozuo. Where is the perfect expression of that Mira? shape? Looking back, you are surprised to find that the director's understanding of perfection may really mean appearance. There are a lot of plots in the film to praise Scarlett Johansson's perfect appearance. Does it mean that the robot company behind the conspiracy is actually sex robots?
The emotional
force of the former lover's display form almost made me think that I was watching the red VAN in Mong Kok bound for Dapu in the early hours of that night. But Bart's way of showing the mysterious soy sauce and the mysterious feeling and the final scene of the incomplete body of the mysterious body brought the embarrassing atmosphere to the culmination.
action
As for the hot battle scenes that are standard for high-concept visual effects blockbusters, this film is still basically unqualified. Recall the milestone of the genre of "The Matrix." Nearly twenty years ago, its action design was fantastic, even as a pure entertainment film. Conversely, most of the playful fights in the film, which are like radio fucking, will only make contemporary audiences who have been baptized by countless superhero movies feel ridiculous. Speaking of superhero movies, whether Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, or Captain America, their iconic fighting styles all have a strong sense of design. This sense of design is obviously missing from Cyberxia.
Designers
have their own aesthetics, it's hard to say too much. But I personally feel that a city that advertises cyberpunk style is wet but not trendy, glorious and orderly. This is a very contradictory thing.
And still can’t help but say, the director’s understanding of the future advertising industry is the giant human body projection and the human head balloon?
Looking back, the only thing that made me think "it was pretty good here" was that Mila Shozo chased the garbage workers to the shallow water and the fighting scenes that followed. Away from those seemingly tall and cheap urban shells, returning to the dark, humid and dense lower alleys of the city, the film has a little taste. As for how many of the scenes were reproduced in the 95 Ghost in the Shell-I can only say that today I will not discuss the 95 Ghost in the Shell, only this movie.
