Even for the sake of feelings, I have to give it five stars.
I remember that in the beginning of an episode in Breaking Bad, Jesse looked at a beetle with interest, but in the end the beetle was trampled to death by a friend, and Jesse looked disappointed. In the continuation of life, the Beetle reappeared. Jesse still looked at it like that, as if he was still that high school student...
Lao Bai's death is glorious and even romantic, while Jesse's life is sad and cruel. Although Lao Bai is a drug lord, he can say, "i like it, and i'm good at it. "He walked without regrets while he was still alive. But Jesse was forced by Lao Bai to go further and further on this road of no return. From the death of his girlfriend by Lao Bai, to the persecution and murder by Lao Bai, to the poisoning of Bullock, Jesse has always been burdened with crimes for Lao Bai and was forced to live in endless remorse and pain.
He is the victim of Lao Bai's glory. In Breaking Bad, contrary to Lao Bai’s step-by-step sinking, Jesse has always been that innocent and kind high school student. He is eager to be noticed and eager to avenge those who don’t care about him, even in the desert and torturing him. When Todd was alone, he still didn't have the heart to shoot. But as you can see in the life-saver, Jesse finally changed—even though he hated Lao Bai, the shadow of Lao Bai remained irreversibly on his body.
In the first clip of the film, Old Mike told Jesse: "Sorry, kid, we will never be able to get back to the right." Jesse can never go back to the past. The so-called reformation can only push Jesse towards destruction, and all he can do is to bite the bullet and walk down to find the final frontier. Jesse finally stopped paying for others and regretted others. It turned out that he would cry when killing a drug maker, but in the end, in order to start again, he expertly shot two robbers and threatened witnesses. Jesse's story is like a strange circle. He did not hesitate to follow Lao Bai down this dark road, but now he is doing all he can to find a new beginning.
There is nothing at the beginning, and nothing at the end. In this cycle, the only thing that changed was Jesse's heart, with so much mud and gloom, so many scars.
Alaska is Jesse's salvation, his last hope. In the film, Alaska is sparsely covered in snow, as if it is a pure land of soul without pollution. It convinces the audience that Jesse can start again and put everything back on the right path—this is what Lao Bai hopes to see.
Before leaving, Jesse gave no information to his parents, only a letter to Bullock. That letter also represented Jesse's innocence and the past. When Jesse handed out the letter, he completely said goodbye to the past.
The end of the film is the conversation between the original Jesse and his late girlfriend. Jane said: "I have followed the instructions of the universe all my life, but I would rather make my own decisions if I can." Jesse thought "follow the universe" as a philosophy, but now he finally knows the pain of not being able to make decisions.
Having been a suffering saint for five seasons, Jesse finally became a master for himself.
