My point of view

This is a relatively popular psychological horror movie in recent years. The plot is still quite compact, and the right soundtrack also makes the atmosphere of the movie more depressing. As for the ending, I think it is an open ending.

First, it may be that the heroine's deepest wish is to complete her studies, but the child's father made him pregnant, so she gave up her studies for the sake of her family, but although she has a lovely son Chris, her husband is very fond of her. She was often domestic violence against her, maybe the scar on her forehead was caused by domestic violence, so she left her husband with the child. After she and her son moved to a new home, the son felt very unfamiliar with the new environment and it was difficult to adapt. In fact, as an adult, she was no exception. Through some details in the film, it is not difficult to find that the relationship between her and her son is also very good. Nervous (e.g. Chris says his dad will kill the spider for him, but his mom wants to let it go, mom says dad will come later, but Chris knows his mom and dad are divorced and mom is a liar... ). I didn't finish my studies. I originally thought that I would sacrifice my dream in exchange for a beautiful love and a happy family, but I got domestic violence, I was uncomfortable with the new environment after moving, and my relationship with my son was tense. When I arrived at the crazy old woman (Noreen), I also heard about her (Noreen) terrible story from her colleagues... All these bad experiences were unbearable for the heroine, so she had Psychological problems (the big hole in the ground actually alludes to the sores on the heroine's soul), I also invited a doctor to come to the house to prescribe medicine, but it was too late, the heroine's heart has gradually begun to collapse, the story of the old woman It also began to penetrate into her heart, and she began to gradually believe in the old woman's words (he is not your son!), began to doubt Chris, and began to have hallucinations...... (She saw Chris eating spiders, sitting Combing the head of the bed, pushing the table away vigorously, etc. are all hallucinations), she asked the old woman's husband for help, but was also angrily rejected by him, and she also said that she "can't see anything" when facing the old man with the VCR. When she finally rescues "Chris" from the burrow (the sore she bravely faced and penetrated deep inside), she finds that the monster has transformed into herself, perhaps a plot hinting at the movie The theme is that monsters are born from the inside out, and the demons within themselves are the real enemies. But the heroine finally smashed "self" with a flashlight without hesitation. In the end, she burned the "fake Chris" who was trapped in the basement by herself, burned the house full of evil, and burned her own house. A lost past. She started a new life, completed her dream (study), and her relationship with her son improved, and finally had a happy family... I think the full room of mirrors at the end of the film is a hint of the heroine Always remind yourself, always reflect on yourself, and never lose yourself...

The second, I think, is that monsters do exist, so this film will be less obscure and difficult to understand, and it will be a monster horror movie. Monsters do exist. The heroine defeated the monsters through a series of arduous struggles, rescued her son from the cave, burned the monster disguised as her son, and finally left the land of right and wrong with her son. , began a new life... Of course, if the monster really exists, then this whole process actually reflects the psychological process of the heroine. If this is a monster horror movie, then I think some plots in the film are relatively thin and abrupt, such as this big hole, how did it come from? I found such a big hole, why didn't the heroine chat with the locals? Was it only Chris who fell in? Did the locals fall in? The whole film feels that the locals don't care about this big hole?

The above is my humble opinion.
