A few days ago, it was said that China's banned films are the main theme of foreign countries, and today I caught an example. "Mrs. Henderson's Gift", a very light and light sketch-style film. The theme can be summed up in Mrs. Henderson's last sentence: "Since the country wants them to be ready to give their lives at all times, they should also be allowed to enjoy themselves." There is no need for an answer to this question. This film will definitely not pass in China, because there are many scenes of outright nudity. But these scenes are so pure that they are somewhat sacred under Mrs. Henderson's rendering. The protagonist is an old lady, and everything is a little boring, but this old lady is fierce, civilized, and self-willed, so it can be seen; the background is World War II, the wonderful chemical reaction between an old lady and the war. A willful old lady and a stubborn old man are wonderful chemistry.
Although this film made me a little impatient to watch, the layout is small, and the plot is simple, but at least it is comfortable, if impatient and comfortable can be juxtaposed.
And this is a musical, it's not just comfortable. In the past six months, I watched several musicals one after another, "If You Love", "Walking with the Song", and this one. The revelation is that music and dance can always save a bland or chaotic plot; and that Chinese music and dance films are freaks. I mean "If Love", its music is really ugly compared to the other two, I mean: awkward.
