The life and death struggle of an old man and a young boy - "The Sharpshooter"

Maybe it’s been caused by the new crown in foreign countries recently. There are really no good movies to talk about. It’s lackluster. After watching a few, it’s really bad. Bar. The "Sharpshooter" I watched last night was ok. It starred Liam Neeson. After watching it, I had a strong feeling that 1. Foreign actors are getting old too fast. The image falls in a waterfall. 2. As long as you get older, your own resources will disappear immediately, and you will never participate in the films of powerful companies again, and you can only struggle in some low-budget films of second-tier companies. 3. These actors don't say they are angry, but there are only two ways in front of them, either to quit the movie, or to pay such a small cost. In this way, many of the actors I liked either disappeared, or the film was bad, helpless.

This movie is alright. I can watch it in the movies I've watched recently, but the ending is a bit inexplicable. The screenwriter wanted to give the movie a bit of thought and human emotion, but it turned out to be self-defeating. It is very simple, it can be said to be rudimentary, and it can be done with a few cars and a few guns.

The owner of the Border Ranch, the male protagonist, is a Marine Corps veteran who also serves as a voluntary border patrol officer. If anyone is found illegally crossing the border, he will report to the Homeland Security Bureau. His daughter is the head of the bureau. , Just recently, in order to treat his terminally ill wife, he has not paid the mortgage for several months, his own finances are in trouble, the ranch is in danger of being auctioned by the bank, and he is unable to solve it. Lost both human and wealth, struggling in the quagmire.

One day when I was visiting the ranch, I found that the little boy and his mother who were chased and killed because their family stole the money from the drug cartel were crossing the border. The drug dealer arrived during the male protagonist's hesitation. The drug dealer's brother was shot and killed by the male protagonist, and the child's mother was also killed by a stray bullet.

After the male protagonist with the little boy fled desperately, he handed the little boy to the Department of Homeland Security. Unexpectedly, when he returned to the car, he found the money that the little boy's mother had intentionally left in the car, and recalled that the woman entrusted herself before her death. If he takes care of the little boy, the male protagonist is in a tangle, and his own morality does not allow him to let go of it. In addition, he learned from the staff of the Land and Resources Bureau that the little boy will be repatriated. Isn't this sending meat into the wolf's mouth? Then he decided to fulfill his promise to send the little boy to his aunt in Chicago.

At this time, drug dealers also sneaked into the United States through the border, chasing and killing the male protagonist who hurried on the road, and chased after him through the traces of the male protagonist using his credit card. In several dangerous moments, the male protagonist relied on his own wit and skills developed in the army. At the same time, on the way to escape, he and the little boy gradually transitioned from being relatively unfamiliar and not understanding each other to trusting and relying on each other.

During this period, the male protagonist's thoughts have also been repeated. On the way to escape, he also obeyed his daughter's advice, waited in the hotel for her daughter to arrive, and handed over the little boy to the police. The love of the dog finally prompted the male protagonist to decide to protect the little boy himself. At this time, the anger of revenge began to burn.

The male protagonist who figured it out bought a gun and burned all the remaining money with the little boy. Since fleeing cannot achieve active self-help, by setting up an ambush on the way to escape, he eliminated the chasing drug dealers one by one, and finally ended up in a barn on the way. In the decisive battle of life and death for the drug dealer, the two cooperated closely, using the true character of the male sniper, a battle of wits and bravery, and a fierce fight to finally subdue the drug dealer, but in the end inexplicably let the drug dealer commit suicide, which is very awkward to watch.

In the end, the open ending of the film is also confusing. After sending the little boy to his relatives in Chicago, the male protagonist quietly left, reluctantly covered his wound and silently got on the bus, his eyes slowly closed, and he did not know whether he was dead or asleep. I'm asleep, of course I hope I'm asleep.
