In the 20th century, a fictitious country.
Sam Laurie , a small civil servant in the Intelligence Department, had a depressed life.
On the one hand, his mother always urged him to transfer to the Information Retrieval Department, but he was unwilling.
On the other hand, he is very lonely and often dreams that he is wearing armor and flying in the sky to save a beautiful girl.
On this day, the Intelligence Department had a major incident, and the boss sent Sam to deal with it, but unexpectedly, this incident involved Sam in a catastrophe.
It turns out that this society strictly implements information management and every move of the people will be monitored by the government, and everything must be reviewed.
Recently, the government wanted the terrorist Tuttle, but the printer of the Ministry of Security flew into a fly, marking "Tuttle" as "Battle".
As a result, an innocent shoemaker was arrested by the military and police on Christmas Eve and later died unfairly.
After the error was revealed, the intelligence department was unfortunately backed up, and Sam's task was to find the cobbler's family to deal with the aftermath.

At the shoemaker's house, Sam finished his work and accidentally ran into the shoemaker's female neighbor, truck driver Jill Leighton.
To his surprise, Jill looked exactly like the girl in his dream.

It turned out that Jill had been helping the shoemaker's petition, but failed because of incomplete procedures.
The trouble is that during the petition process, Jill was also suspected of being a terrorist by the government, so she only fled when she saw Sam as a civil servant.

In the meantime, Sam got acquainted with the wanted Tuttle, only to discover that he was not a terrorist at all, but an ordinary repairman.

The appearance of Tuttle made Sam feel the beauty of freedom.
He took the risk, went deep into the Information Retrieval Department, and finally found and deleted Jill's files, winning Jill's heart.
But at Christmas, Sam and Jill were languishing in bed, but the military police suddenly fell from the sky and arrested both of them.
Subsequently, Jill’s whereabouts are unknown, and it is said that he has been executed, while Sam was sentenced to capital punishment.
In the paddock, Sam was about to be executed. Tuttle and his "maintenance corps" suddenly came in and rescued Sam.
Then they escaped from the government and detonated the explosives that had been buried in advance, destroying the government's filing system.
However, the "Maintenance Engineer Corps" was annihilated one by one by the soldiers and police who came after it, and Tuttle was also wrapped in materials flying in the sky and disappeared in it.
In the end, Sam was forced to a dead end with nowhere to escape.
But at this time, a miracle happened.
Sam found a secret door on the wall behind him. He opened the door and hid in the secret room inside the wall.
And found that this secret room seems to be moving.
It turned out that this secret room was Jill's truck container, and Jill was driving the truck, driving Sam to a better new life.
There are no government, materials, seals, only green fields, forests and grasslands...
Unfortunately, the last paragraph is all Sam's fantasy.
In reality, he had already been tortured and became mentally insane. Whether Jill was alive or dead is unknown.
The movie came to an end in this despair.
"Wonderful Imagination" was released in 1985. It is a classic of science fiction and dystopian movies. Its English film title is "Brazil", which is derived from the movie's theme song "Brazil" of the same name.
This theme song is based on the Brazilian composer Ary Barroso (Ary Barroso)'s 1939 song "Aquarela Do Brasil" (Aquarela Do Brasil). The style is enthusiastic and full of love for life.
Many of the soundtracks in the film are derived from it, vividly showing the protagonist's passion for freedom and the roughness of his encounters.

In order to ensure the completeness of the work, Terry Gilliam verbally criticized the media and finally re-released in a new version of 132 minutes, but the box office was not ideal.
