Orson Welles' personal understanding of Mr. K

As a film based on Kafka's original novel of the same name, I don't really like it, at least in some ways, it doesn't quite match my understanding of the original novel, but I do greatly admire Orson Welles for making this extremely The courage to put a personal work on the movie stage, (it is conceivable that this movie will not be a high box office in Hollywood).
Orson Welles uses numerous dazzling elevation shots to suggest K's vulnerability and helplessness to the oppressive forces that persecute him. But be careful! When K faced those who were lower than him, he was also ruthless in their oppression (those of his subordinates, his cousins...).
I think what the director wants to express here is, "In this twisted, perverted world, no one is innocent".

A lot of the scenes turned out to be exactly what I imagined when I watched Kafka.

The jaw-dropping panorama, the nerve-wracking editing, and the maze-like icy and terrifying movement of the camera, the nerves were tense throughout the whole process, and at the end he even said that he was overwhelmed and unable to interpret. Wells' visual talent is too suitable This story, the only sober person in the machine society, can't avoid going crazy in the end, and Perkins' performance is perfect.

The Trial quotes

  • Hilda: I want to help you. That's why I came in here. Even though - it's forbidden.

Joseph K.: That's very nice of you; but, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble.

Hilda: No, you mustn't go away like that. Not yet. You've got the wrong ideas about me. Am I such a nothing in your eyes that you won't stay just a little longer when I ask you?

  • Joseph K.: You mustn't be offended when I ask you not to do anything about my case. The truth is, I don't care at all how it comes out. If they sentence me, I'll just laugh at them. Not that it'll ever come to that. Oh, they might make a show of carrying it out in the hope of getting money out of me, but they're wasting their time, I can tell you that. There's one thing you could do for me. Tell that Examining Magistrate of yours that nothing could ever induce me to give money to those precious judges. Nope!
