adaptation. Charlie is one of the protagonists of the story. Susan Orlean’s novel orchid thief is rewritten into a script, and then the plot jumps back to tell the story of Susan who wants to write the life of john laroche into the book of orchid thief, jumping again, john laroche and the Indians steal the extinct orchid.
This is a trap of chasing: Charlie chases Susan's novels and inner feelings for the script, Susan wants to find the reason for John's enthusiasm for orchids, and John keeps searching for ghost orchids; when he unwinds backwards, there is something under John's madness. In the sad past, Susan found that his life was empty and without passion. Charlie suffered a mid-life crisis, and the script had no way to continue
being john malkovich. Everyone could come to john malkovich's mind and become himself. This movie is like going on in the mind of charlie kaufman, we see what he thinks of. So the story went round and round, and the theme kept changing. On the suggestion of his twin brother Donald, he returned to the common drugs, sex, gunfights, and speeding in Hollywood.
This is a very noisy movie. It's not the movie itself, but he keeps running, but doesn't tell you what he wants to say. In the end, he still doesn't tell you anything. As an engineering student who is used to everything has a meaning, this is a kind of torture. Ah,
out of respect for the screenwriter and this ingenious script, I recommend this film, but I must admit that I really don’t understand anything.
