God and Satan

For Polanski, I dare not say how much I know him, but from the "Pianist", "The Killing" and some negative news about him, I can feel that he is also an artist who lingers between God and the Devil.
Roman Polanski was born on August 18, 1933 in a Polish Jewish family living in Paris. His father was a Polish Jewish painter, his mother was born in Russia, his grandfather believed in Judaism, and his grandmother believed in Roman Catholicism.
In such a family environment, Polanski must be full of artist’s demeanor and wisdom. At the same time, his childhood was the baptism of war. Religious constraints must make Polanski’s heart full of contradictions: God’s love is in war. No trace, only demonic slaughter and helpless shouts filled his ears. Polanski must feel pain at this moment, whether he should believe in the existence of God or face the reality of the ruthless demons.
Looking back at this movie now, I can actually feel the pain of this contradiction: Rosemary has a Mary-like appearance, and her mother's love is like the love of God, but what is born is the reincarnation and rebirth of Satan. The tension and sadness we felt during the viewing process is actually Polanski's pain.
Of course, as a director, you must make a choice in pain, even if it is wrong, you still have to choose. So, at the end of the film, Rosemary chose to take care of her child: Satan. This actually declared that God is dead in Rosemary's heart! I Polanski chose Satan.
Yes, God is dead, although I hate to say that. But the fact is like this.
Only in troubled times and crises will people pray for the gospel of God, and only in chaos and helplessness will people surrender to Satan's embrace. In a peaceful age, God and Satan do not exist. Art is the only spiritual sustenance of mankind. In other words, God is art, and art is God. In other words, God appears with an artistic mentality to arouse love in people's hearts.
However, in 1965 (the era when the movie took place), in the 20th year after the smoke of World War II disappeared and 30 years after Roosevelt’s administration, the tension between the US and the Soviet Union began to emerge. Amidst turmoil and unrest, God and Satan reappeared. So people felt pain and entanglement again.
I hate to agree with what other people have said: The difference between God and the devil is obvious. God does not need us to look for it. The relationship between us and him is based on vows and unconditional trust. On the contrary, the devil needs us to find him. The devil is in business, and we must exchange with him.
Yes, in such an era, or in such an era, which side should we choose?

Don’t watch the movie for pregnant women...

It wasn't until the heroine held the cover of Time Magazine that said "Is God Dead?" that it was a concept-first film. Should we be a martyr or a follower in the wave of crazy collective unconsciousness? In the original book, Rosemary chose to jump off the building to promote justice. Polanski decided not to sublimate her and let her become a member of the devil. The heroine is too twiggy, her gestures are like models, and every shot is so beautiful.
