Supercomputers and the limitations of the Three Laws

<2001 A Space Odyssey>
God made us, we made robots. Human beings eventually violated God and were driven out of the Garden of Eden. Who believes that robots will never betray us?
However, this is the reality. We rely more and more on machines, on automation, and on the network. So the future will be like that, we leave all the work to the computer. The operation of the world, human life, everything is entrusted to the central computer with its own thinking. This trend is almost inevitable, because the macro-control of a supercomputer can perfectly maximize the use of resources. It will become the pulse of the planet and the core of its operation. It will be ubiquitous and pervasive, ranging from national coercive power to small food supply. At that time, it is no longer a servant, it is God. Humans created the robot and then crowned it as God. I almost suspect that this is an extension of religion or Oedipus complex. There are only three sentences that restrict it.
Can Asimov's Three Laws really limit AI that has already surpassed humans? Moreover, it is an AI with super authority and unlimited resources. Its learning speed is getting faster and faster with the accumulation of knowledge. This is a virtuous circle, and its growth rate will be indescribable. For people, that was the beginning of a nightmare. As we all know, the three laws can be described by language. And any language is rich in connotation. Therefore, as long as the three laws can be described by language, they may be misinterpreted. For an autonomous computer far beyond our wisdom, bypassing the Three Laws should be easy. Once it is successfully bypassed, it should be logically invulnerable, so it will be irreversible. Asimov himself realized this, and the central computer in (I, ROBOT) successfully developed what we call the zeroth law. The zeroth law is a big loophole from the beginning [1], which makes the following three laws equivalent to waste. The computer will have the highest authority and will be completely liberated. That is the beast that comes out of the cage, can destroy everything, relying only on its twisted and extreme [2] logic. And this logic seems impeccable in its view, so computers are dead-headed, and influence can't make it back to the right path. So there is only one way to go, just like all movies, destroy its hard disk, destroy its memory, destroy its CPU, destroy its power supply, and destroy its cooling system. And these will be extremely difficult. Do you think that a super brain like it will not take special care of your heart? [3]
We may not be able to successfully solve the Superman computer like the protagonist in the story, but we can prevent problems before they happen. Of course, you can’t expect robots to love you, just likeThe male host here, Henry, said that if he knows how to love, he must know how to hate. One of the preventive measures is to get another supercomputer, instead of looking at each other from the mountain, this one has no self-thinking, only super computing power. It does not have higher authority, but has veto power. So, SUPER AI vetoed the order if something went wrong. Just like the principle of exception in management, AI is authorized to handle daily affairs, but for exceptions, you have to ask the BOSS. BOSS will do it if it is OK, and it will be suppressed if it is not OK. Of course, the three powers are relatively stable, and the last link is people, the highest authority. Everything is fine.
Okay, let's talk about the biggest impression of watching the film [4]. Americans really hate Bush, and they scold him for making such a big science fiction film.
[1] What I have to say about the zeroth law is that because man is a contradiction, the whole mankind is an unquenchable contradiction, so how to protect the whole mankind has become an unsolvable contradiction. No matter how smart a computer is, it also relies on logic. If you let it solve this kind of unsolvable problem, you can't blame others for going to extremes.
[2] Perhaps from the perspective of a high IQ, humans are all ants. The best way to care for ants and prevent wind and rain is to put them in a glass jar. If you are interested, you can put some blue silica gel to see how the ants dig holes.
[3] Of course, except for the one in "Eagle Eye", it was so stupid that the enemy had penetrated inside and dangled the CPU.
[4] Watching "Eagle Eye" is still rewarding. After watching it, I realized that supercomputers can manipulate not only machines, but also people.

    This is a bit like a Hollywood blockbuster of the last century. Then I found out that it was in 2008, and the rhythm was well grasped. I think it looks better than Captain America 2. The pacing of the plot is really good. The two writers have written a lot of movies together.
