Never trust the future, especially when you foresee it

This is still a film with elements of classic heroes saving the world. After Mike foresees the terrible disaster that the machine he invented may bring to mankind, he blows up the machine and solves a group of ambitious people by the way.

What impresses me more is the discussion on the topic of destiny. I recalled it carefully and found that in the books I have read, most of the authors have too much destiny. A particularly classic one is "A Dream of Red Mansions", where the ending of a bunch of sons and daughters is written at the beginning, so that readers are not afraid of being bored and running away. He just wants readers to watch and cherish people with different identities and positions, step by step toward the end of their own destiny, but there is nothing they can do. Cao Xueqin also consciously sets up dreams so that the main characters have the opportunity to touch their own destiny. For example, Baoyu's sleepwalking is too illusory, such as arranging the ghost of Qin Keqing to tell my daughter-in-law. Sadly, after the two woke up, they almost forgot everything in their dreams, let alone make a difference. At the end of Baoyu's second tour of the fantasy world, he finally remembered and understood, but he still did nothing. Such cases are not uncommon, and the authors of Sihu believe deeply in the destiny, and want to pass on this view to the readers, so that the readers can also sincerely believe, yes! Destiny is hard to break!

But is this an excuse for us not to change the future? The future cannot be treated like history. Akutagawa Ryunosuke said, "Deleting any moment I have experienced, I cannot become who I am today." It is true. But the future is not like this. The future is made up of many present, and the greatest charm of the future lies in its unknowability. People often say that they want to foresee the future. This is actually a false proposition. How can the future be foreseen? If the future can be foreseen and fate is already doomed, then each of us does not need to say "prevention" and "avoidance" at all, because everything has its own arrangements anyway, so why struggle? This is really absurd. Because if that were the case, life would be nothing to be happy about, and everyone was just a set of parts waiting to be assembled, waiting for fate to make them complete.

Mike is more special. He is a person with a memory rift. He survived by relying on twenty items of his own, and these twenty items came from himself who had foreseen the future. The existence of these 20 items stems from the preparation for the future crisis, and it contains the resistance to the future. Mike, who has solved the doubts step by step and found out the truth, has begun to fear that future. Just out of the kind of primitive goodness that wanted to make up for his sins, he began to resist, and this resistance started to rewrite the future. As I wrote earlier, the future is always changing. Mike's revolt turned out beautifully, surviving, and blowing up a potentially devastating machine. I can't help but start thinking about the significance of our desire to see the future, probably like Mike, because of eradicating the evil side in advance. However, such a future is bound to no longer be called the future, so we are bound to fall into the obsession with the eternity of the time machine.

Therefore, my opinion is that although the concept of destiny has its merits, especially when it comes to self-consolation, it should not be constrained by this concept of destiny, and even the will to see clearly and firmly believe that the future can be changed is consumed. .

Michael Jennings: I think I remember - are those OUR birds?

Rachel Porter: Yes, of course they are! We bought them together.

Shorty: Oh, you remember the birds! Well done! You could see into the future, and all you remember are, are Polly and Tweety over there. Why don't you remember something that would make us rich?
