Hardy's Heart of Jesus

As an architect, Hardy has won several RIBA awards. But he gave up the great future of fame and fortune and started writing from scratch. Mr. Mu Xin commented on Hardy: A genius knows where his talents are when he has nothing. Then, book by book, word by word, prove yourself a genius.

Mr. Mu Xin mentioned in his "Literary Memoirs" that Hardy was a master of prose, calm, soothing, gentle, without purpose, without deep meaning, and a great blandness. In terms of novels, Hardy is on an equal footing with Dostoevsky, both are first-class. Hardy is everyone because he has great compassion in his heart.

Mr. Mu Xin said: Great works of art are the artist's mind, heart, and talent, all three in one. In our era, we are faced with two kinds of poverty, one is intellectual poverty and the other is character poverty. In Hardy's novels, there is the heart of Jesus, which can be used to relieve the poverty of character.

I haven't read the original book, but I came here for the Hardy that Mr. Mu Xin told.

-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------

This is a story of a heroine "growing up" in love. England's scenery is beautiful. The three male protagonists are all great lovers with good looks. The music fits well. It's a pity that the heroine's acting skills are superficial, and the total score of the three male protagonists with outstanding acting skills still cannot reach 7. Although as a movie, it is not ideal, but as a love story, it is worth pondering.

Many people think that the heroine "acts". A girl who claims to be "independent", "self-improving" and "not to marry casually" is the favorite of the three male protagonists, but she married herself casually because of a first kiss. Fortunately, after going round and round to return to the original point, the ending was "satisfactory". In the middle of the sunset, the handsome shepherd returned with a beautiful hug.

Is the ending really happy? As the saying goes: men are not bad, women do not love. The heroine's true love is actually the unruly red-shirted officer (passionate), but he was shot dead. A wealthy gentleman (moral benevolence) who took second place, went to jail for loving her. These two are the spontaneous choices of the heroine, but they were cut off by fate. The handsome shepherd (ordinary and down-to-earth) is the last and only one, and there is no choice. Although the handsome shepherd expressed his love to the heroine at the beginning of the film, he is obviously not the first choice for the heroine.

So, which of the four protagonists did Hardy's mercy and Jesus' heart give?
