cross madman

The movie "Cross Maniac" is very reminiscent of "Se7en". The two films have very similar plots. A high-IQ serial killer for religious reasons, the way of killing is very strange and abnormal, the crime scene has clues leading to the next murder, and the feelings between the two police partners.

In fact, I have the impression that some pirated discs of "Crazy Demon" claim that this is a companion to "Seven Deadly Sins".

I want to explain the name of the movie.

The original English name of the film is Resurrection, which means resurrection. Because the murderer's attempt in the movie is to resurrect Jesus.

The common Chinese name is "Cross Mad Demon," the nickname given to the murderer by the news media in the movie.

The original English name of this nickname is number killer, digital killer.

He left a series of Roman numerals on the first three victims, hence the nickname.

The criminal police guessed the meaning behind these numbers, and thus predicted who the next victim would be, and almost caught the murderer.

Afterwards, the murderer said that he had been too contemptuous of the police before and would be more careful in the future.

His caution is that he no longer leaves any clues about the next murder.

This makes the battle of wits a lot less in this movie, and the second half of the movie is not as exciting as the first half.

Overall, however, it still feels like a Se7en parody, which makes the movie quite watchable.

Of course, she is far from reflecting on society like "Se7en". In fact, there is a vaguely religious discussion in the film, but she obviously has no intention of deepening the discussion, just touching on it.

I thought that was fine. From the part she pointed to, I don't think she has the ability to make this proposition clear. Still so good, let her keep it as a wonderful reasoning movie. I like this.

IMDB score of 5.9 (2550 votes), I give it a 6.

Det. Andrew Hollinsworth: Listen, seriously... If this is gonna work for real, you gotta gimme a chance, alright? You gotta gimme a chance to come back. I'll be good as new. But you gotta gimme a chance. You may have to pickup a fair share at the legwork. But I will be back.

John Prudhomme: Whatever you say, partner.

  • Det. Andrew Hollinsworth: Hey, how does a blonde turn on the lights after sex? She opens the car door.

    [John ignores him]

Det. Andrew Hollinsworth: I don't know why I'm wasting my good jokes on you.

John Prudhomme: I don't know either.
