The background of the story is really not very clear. It seems that the hero and heroine should have some unusual experiences in their childhood, but they have all been taken away. The final outcome also ended with Karas killing Ilona. However, can Ilona's death put Avalon's conspiracy out of the way? If one researcher dies, won't there be another?
There is also the relationship between Karas and Bislane, which is too Hollywood. Even more awkward than Hollywood.
