So you are here too

Watched a lot of Spanish movies, of course, most of them are Almodóvar. The same royal actor, similar background music, although the plot is different, but the style is very consistent, so I am not clear about the content.
Like I always thought I'd seen "All About My Mother", only to find out it was "High Heels." It's just that that is the daughter and the mother, and this is the mother and the son. Compared with the tension between mother and daughter in "High Heels", "All About My Mother" is more about the warmth between mother and son, although short, it is the center of the film.
I really like the mother in the movie, her eyes are always soft, whether looking at the beloved son, the star who indirectly killed her son, the lover of her son's father, or the father of the transgender son.
The amazing thing is that Penelope Cruz is pure and beautiful here. I knew her because of Tom's girlfriend. I didn't like her at first. After watching her movies, I became more and more fond of her. Especially recommend "Paris Smoke", which Theron is also very good. I just like this kind of tender and strong woman, and so does Isabel Adjani.

The only core word "comprehensive" is not included in Almodovar's praise to "All About My Mother". Son, as the only male psychology in this film, was "cut out" of this mother body early by him, just because this female-exclusive "A Streetcar Named Desire" would not be moved by his simplicity. For this reason, he invites all the audience outside the screen to enter the theater, for fear that it will become a fantasy, and under the banner of "Women Only", he will not get the completeness he wants.

Almodovar's use of color reaches the extreme in this film, and the red full of life consciousness is completely different from Zhang Yimou's repressed and tragic. Everything about a mother is love, an unparalleled love that spans time and space. A life intertwined with blood and tears on and off the stage of "A Streetcar Named Desire". This is not just a woman's story, but concerns for the LGBT community. In the current Chinese cultural context, the importance of such works is beyond doubt.
