Unhappy childhood is the beginning of unhappy life

This is the first Almodovar film I've ever seen, and the second about homosexuality. And I've always felt that it seemed too sloppy to pick up a pen immediately after watching a movie. Because this is indeed a very unusual film. It is said that many film critics have come up with different evaluations about the theme, which shows its deep meaning.
During the viewing period, the plot of "Brokeback Mountain" constantly crossed in my mind, because I first regarded it as a pure gay romance movie. The oriental emotions borrowed in Ang Lee's film, the internal fire that will burst forth, as well as the meaningful mountain forest and grassland scenery all prove that it is really a very simple love.
And this movie is more than just love.
In the beginning, it was a case—the kind we can see in the newspapers of priests molesting children. The editing of the film is very delicate and the layout is very delicate. The story begins with the meeting of two old friends, who at this time are film directors and actors with their own scripts. The relationship involved was very close classmates in the church school more than ten years ago - they were each other's first love. The problem is that they are both male. From here, the important characters in the film all appear. The intricate relationships were picked out one by one. From the director's secretly suppressed emotions, we can guess that there is an inner fire-like emotion secretly surging inside. We didn't expect that this would involve such a love-hate entanglement.
So, another case - a case within a case emerged. The actor's true identity turned out to be like this, he was his younger brother, why did he do this? The man who became the director said: The reason why I didn't expose you is to see how far you can go. He asked him to take his brother's script and become an actor in the film. Attracted the priest of the year. Here, love and hatred are entangled together. Contradictions can always be very vivid to promote the development of the situation. A series of old stories began to be told. At this time, the former priest who was in front of him had pulled off his mask. He was an old man, coughing with a handkerchief in his hands, and an old man who loved and hated those boys. It is not clear what to condemn and what to pity?
The film has three turning points to promote the development of the plot: at the beginning, the two meet, which leads to the tragic childhood. The exposure of the actor's identity led to the death of his lover. The appearance of the priest and the telling of the truth are the last climax of the whole article.
At this time, people will definitely start to think about what he did in those days. We will certainly recall the uncontrollable emotions of the priest playing the piano for the little boy, the uncontrollable tears of the priest under the innocent and beautiful singing of the little boy. We also think of that dark night, the bedroom that seemed empty because of the darkness. The priest searches for the boy he loves. no bed? ! The door of the toilet was pushed open one by one and could not be found. In contrast, there were four trembling feet behind the only door. The sound of the door slamming, the priest's sharp eyes and the corners of his closed mouth, darkness. These footnotes all state that this is a case without a doubt. Is it emotion? or morality? The boy's younger brother was hugged tightly by the priest in the rain after killing his own brother, and his tears were mixed with the rain. We will start to think about whether that turbulent emotion is love or lust? And what about the two inseparable boys? Is their relationship love or friendship?
The boundaries are so blurry.
All we can know is that it all comes from the darkness of more than a decade ago. The priest back then had a fatal influence on the three men today. He almost controlled their fate and determined their character. He and that younger brother shed tears in the rain after the murder, with a deep meaning.
Psychologists have said: childhood misfortune is the beginning of life misfortune. And a person's misfortune will involve those around him. How much of the death of that boy with a pure voice was caused by himself? The truth is like a butterfly, with a slight touch of its wings, the truth is pushed forward like a domino? Who is the good guy? Who are the bad guys? Who should be punished? Who should be blamed? How dark is the human heart? There is no absolute morality in the world? When it comes to morality, it always reminds people of philosophy...
But the director didn't explain these things. He threw the thread, and we were pulling the rope.

"Enrique, I think I'm done." No matter how much a person changes, the feeling of first love will not change. Juan's reason for killing Iglesiao is far-fetched. A person must not live in a daze, otherwise he may become a stepping stone for careerists.

Except that the protagonist is not a woman (of course, it can also be understood as a woman), it is the most typical Almodovar-style work. There is more absurdity and desire than the color of the film everywhere, filled with a cruel and sad taste. PS: The ending really can't help but make people think that this is an autobiographical movie.

  • Ignacio: I think I've just lost my faith at this moment, so I no longer believe in God or hell. As I don't believe in hell, I'm not afraid. And without fear I'm capable of anything.
