What a wonderful once, always begin again

In 2006, "once", a vague feeling of calm, unspoken but silent, combined with a simple and clean song, captured the true and indifferent feeling of love and sadness in life. The director John Carney deserves to be born in a band. , The use of music in a simple and fresh story is quite a magical skill.
When it comes to "begin again", the story has a similar context. The two losers who have failed in love have come together because of their love for music. With a touch of affection, the two hearts are slowly approaching, and finally they die. The main line of the story is more inspirational than once. Although the scenes recorded in the open air in the streets and alleys are hot and beautiful, I personally prefer the once-in-the-loser feeling of facing the world alone. At this time, the confrontation and emotional catharsis erupted by the music are even more touching.
As Dan said in the film, good songs can turn mediocre scenes into pearls. But the songs of begin again seem to be too mainstream. Although they are already good, the songs in begin again do not seem to be so touching.
What makes me like "begin again" is actually the treatment of the emotional line, which really reflects the freshness of John Carney's bones: it makes us feel the faint sentiment in the bud of love, a trace of sorrow at the end of the disease, and the inability to let it go. The real pain.
Gretta is obviously very fond of Dan. She is impressed by Dan's talent and will sincerely approach and help his daughter, and even secretly follow Dan's ex-wife. The passage where they each wore a pair of headphones through the streets and alleys of New York was very moving. Dan is not unconscious, but the problem is that this experience that warmed up their feelings is exactly repeating the romantic story of Dan and his ex-wife. That splitter, after that night eighteen years ago, was destined to belong to the story of Dan and his ex-wife. Just like the man in Once singing "One day I'll go there and win her once again", Dan still remembers his ex-wife, and there is a tacit understanding between them.
Gretta is also obsessed with cheating boyfriends, otherwise he wouldn't call and use songs to scold him. When her boyfriend expressed regret and invited her to attend her concert, she also happily went. When her boyfriend sang the "lost stars" which was of great significance to them, in the first half she heard her boyfriend's sincere change of heart, but the more the song reached the climax, the more sad and disappointed Gretta, and finally left.
Why? Dan once told her that her boyfriend will fall in love with Rock star's lifestyle, and they will love the gorgeous stage, bright lights, and crazy fans from the bottom of their hearts. And the song "lost stars" was sung to the end, obviously this kind of atmosphere made Dave very enjoyable.
The “lost stars” that Gretta wanted or cherished were in the snowy Bristol, a small apartment on Christmas Eve, holding a guitar and singing and chanting. At that moment, she and Dave were so close, and through the beautiful melody and lyrics, the two people were so connected.
At this moment, the same song made her see the unbridgeable distance between the two people at this moment. Once two hearts were so close, but in the end they were far away from each other forever. Gretta chose to leave because she saw that in addition to the right and wrong feelings, what was even more sad was what she once had, and it was no longer possible to reproduce it.
Is it the hypocrisy of literary youth? Maybe it is, but it's like picking up lobsters with Alvy and Annie Hall, like when a woman says "I love you" in Czech. Some feelings can't be reproduced. These moments are like pearls, wearing the whole meaning of our lives. But when you hold the thread of the pearl in your hand and find that there is no longer a pearl to wear, it is time to put it down even if you are reluctant to give it up.
At the end of the film, Gretta rode away on a bicycle, leaving behind all the once wonderful moments with Dave, begin again. Just like the song she sang at the beginning of the film, take a step you can't take back.
