Not everyone has a second chance. Fortunately, Sartre got it.

Sartre is a high school graduate, but his best years have lived horribly. He has a glib tongue, a passion for weirdness, and worse, a tendency to drink.
After breaking up with his girlfriend, he got drunk again Ning Tincture and somehow fell drunk on the lawn until a girl found him. The girl named Amy is his high school classmate. She is a quiet, kind and excellent girl. And Sartre, who is provocative but has a mess of grades, seems to be two worlds. Sartre soon discovered Amy's kindness and was surprised to realize that she did not have the colorful life of a girl of this age, so he took the initiative to bring Amy to various party activities.
In this kind of contact between a pair of children, the two found more in common. They both live in single-parent families, only their mother is raising them, and the communication with their mothers is not very good. This made them feel more sympathetic to each other, and slowly turned from liking, attracting, and sympathizing to loving each other.
With the encouragement of Sartre, Amy fought hard with her mother and won the right she deserved-to go to college in Philadelphia. And Sartre also plucked up the courage to see his father. It's a pity that Sartre's father is a selfish bastard. This visit to his father makes Sartre completely sad. The disappointed anger made him yell at Amy and drove her out of the car, almost causing an accident on the highway. Fortunately, Amy was only slightly injured, and Sartre was not severely punished. .
Amy didn't care about this, she still loved Sartre deeply, but Sartre only had guilt and distrust for Amy. Soon after graduation, Sartre did not even get a high school diploma due to poor grades. His job was also messed up because of the alcohol problem, it was a failure of all kinds.
When it came time to go to Philadelphia together, Sartre released the pigeons and Amy left in disappointment. Sartre knew that he had failed too much. He didn't want to drag Amy into being as unhappy as his own mother. Although he felt that he was doing the right thing, he was still very sad, so he and his mother had a heart-to-heart exchange.
Sartre's mother realized the pressure on her son's heart. She clearly told Sartre that he and his father were not the same people. His father was completely selfish and Sartre was a very caring person. After this complete release, and his mother's affirmation, Sartre began to cheer up. In the second year, Sartre passed the university examination and came to Amy again.
In the film, Sartre's feelings are all kinds of awkwardness, because he has been using a kind of unrelenting attitude to cover up himself, particularly awkward and particularly pitiful. And Amy loves Sartre so carefully, the feeling of youth and shyness is really gentle. When Amy saw Sartre again in Philadelphia, her face showed the joy of reunion, and her eyes showed a kind of maturity after injury.
Fortunately, it ended with a happy ending. It should be considered youthful and inspirational.

Pure American freshness. The plot is calm, but the performance is naturally appropriate. Life, especially a young life, all small fluctuations can be big winds and waves. Young and beautiful. Similar recommendations such as "Wallflower Boy".

I miss the innocence for a while.

  • Dan: If I was your father, this is where i might give you a lecture or something, you know, about what you're doing to yourself.

Sutter: You know what Dan, if you were my Dad, you wouldn't have to.

  • Sutter: P.S. - I don't know if this was due a long time ago. Probably was. That's fine. It may be too late for this essay. But it's not too late for me.
