Last night, I finished watching the third and fourth installments of "Chain Saw". I watched the first film of "Television" in 2004. It is really wonderful. Few suspense films can make props and scenery into the narrative with such meticulous detail. It is really enjoyable. The second part feels a bit worse. Although the design of the mechanism is more abnormal and the way people die is more bizarre, it is not delicate. The third part gives too much drama to the originally mysterious jigsaw master and apprentice. Although there is a craniotomy that fits my taste very much, the design sense of GAME is getting worse and worse. The end of the fourth part finally made me relive the joy of watching the first part. It turns out that the beginning of the fourth part is exactly the end. Through the death of the jigsaw at the end of the third part and the autopsy of the jigsaw at the beginning of the fourth part, the director gave us the illusion of time that the fourth part is the story behind the third part. At the moment when the truth came out, we knew that the fourth and third parts of the timeline were carried out at the same time, and we pinched together the missing details of the two episodes 2 and 3, which were not very good, and gave an explanation. I confess that it’s cool to see this moment, I like to be fooled by smarter screenwriters. It is a pity that the theme of "cherish life" in the first episode becomes more like an empty slogan as the way to torture people is constantly updated, the educational significance of "cherish life" becomes more and more pale and even ironic. We can only think that the jigsaw is a patient with a psychological distortion, not a philosopher like the JOHN DOE in "The Seven Deadly Sins".
The directors of "Chain Saw" 3 and 4 are the same, so the styles are very close, especially the transition shots between the various scenes, which are very similar to the style of "Life and Death", which feels good. This kind of lens with a strong sense of design always pleases me.
Finally, predict that "Chain Saw" 5 will explain the whereabouts of Xiao Pang's daughter in the third episode, the ending of the FBI man who was locked up at the death scene of Jigsaw, and the new Jigsaw's own TEST.
