Personally, I don't think this movie is as "bad" as it is rumored to be. On the contrary, I think it is a relatively good film. The overall darker tones tell the audience bluntly and clearly that the stories happening here are not visible. This movie brings ghosts directly to the people, without covering it up, it clearly tells the audience that there are ghosts. The dark red soil on the scarlet mountain, the Gothic decoration in the villa, and the unusual sister and brother. This movie seems absurd and boring, but it has a profound exposure to human nature. Greed perpetuates lies and bloodshed; lust perpetuates absurdity among blood relatives. But under the filth that the whole movie is full of, love seems to be the only holy medicine that can save all this. When Thomas' lie to Edith turned into true love, his already cloudy soul seemed to be purified. I think that's why the ghost of Thomas at the end of the movie is pure white. Maybe it's love that makes people innocent. The movie isn't great or bad, just average. But I personally think it's worth a look.
In addition, I hope that each of us will not become a sword of desire, but a knight in love.
