McCarthyism: Negative

Some of the meanings of the delayed good film echo the crux of the human era. Facing something you don’t know, will you try to believe or instinctively deny it? Most of us will stick to past experience to make judgments. For example, if I tell you now that the kernel of cherries that you usually like to eat is actually highly poisonous, will you be skeptical for the first time? Whether the cherry pit is poisonous can also be verified through scientific and technological means. If authority is denied for things that cannot be verified in a short period of time, all living beings tend to believe in authority rather than the person who asks the question.

This story written by Dr. Seuss to children is both a denial of McCarthyism during the Cold War and an answer to this question. Obviously, his ending is too happy. Both the right and the wrong factions have forgiven each other and reached a reconciliation. We rarely see such a phenomenon on the Internet. The Internet is a part of memory, which may allow too many things that should be criticized to be denied by the subtleties of evil.

Although both Holden and the mayor firmly believed in the existence of each other, the troublemakers never listened to the second opinion. Their implication can actually be used as the incarnation of the United States and the Soviet Union, that is, the diehards of each other are unwilling to listen and communicate. Those who want to block the opponent in their own camp, the Cold War American camp of their anti-communist counterparts, the Soviet Union of the Red Empire, and other opposing organizations. Can they create an imagine world? How long can our imaginations go? What is rare is that it is directly expressed that every tiny life is worthy of respect, not whether it is powerful or not, this is civilization.
