The film focuses on a bear named Paddington who is adopted by a family. Paddington has an Aunt Lucy, and it will be Aunt Lucy's birthday in a few days. When Paddington is picking out gifts, he sees a pop-up book, which is very expensive. In order to buy the pop-up book, Paddington went to work hard to make money. He was not afraid of hard work and tiring work. Finally, he was about to save enough money for gifts. One day, when Paddington was looking at the pop-up book, he happened to see a thief stealing the pop-up book. Then, Paddington wanted to chase the thief back and get the book back. A policeman saw it, thought it was Paddington, and arrested Paddington. Paddington escapes from prison in order to catch the thief. Relying on his own intelligence, cleverness, and bravery, he finally caught the thief and returned his innocence. On Aunt Lucy's birthday, the Browns and neighbors pooled money to invite Aunt Lucy to travel to London. Paddington Bear is very excited.

This movie tells me a truth: be honest, kind, don't panic when encountering difficulties, face it bravely, and everyone must work together to accomplish it.

Paddington: It was always her dream.

Mary Brown: Well we thought... why look at London in a book? When she could see the real thing.

    [doorbell rings]

Mary Brown: Why don't you go and answer that?

  • [Judy and Jonathan Brown telephone Phoenix and play a recording of Felicity Fanshawe that they have secretly recorded. Phoenix doesn't realise it is a recording and thinks he is speaking to Felicity]

Felicity Fanshawe: [recording] Nice buns, by the way.

Phoenix Buchanan: I beg your pardon?

Felicity Fanshawe: [recording] Really nice buns.

Phoenix Buchanan: Thank you, darling. I've never had any complaints about Mr and Mrs Botty-Cheek.
