Coen Brothers Quality Assurance

Coen's brothers (Coen's brothers) works in 1990. All technical aspects are very high-level, and the whole film presents a high quality. I think it can be seen from this movie that the two brothers have the potential to become "big names" in the film industry in the future. But if you compare this movie with their later Fargo, there is still a certain gap. The narrative of this film is mostly dialogue, dialogue and slang. It is not easy for non-native English speakers to fully absorb all the information conveyed by the film through audiovisual, which will reduce a lot of entertainment. When it came to Fargo, the brothers not only retained a certain degree of locality conveyed by slang, but also used the lens to explain more of the plot development, thus conquering thousands of global fans in one fell swoop. The plot depicting the intrigue among the gangsters in this film also established the prototype for many similar movies in the future. If you like Brother Coen, don't miss it, but you have to watch it at least twice.

The Coen brothers' control of the overall situation of the movie is really awesome. It's a rather complicated story, and it's not too chaotic. It's a very atmospheric gangster classic. John Turturro's performance is perfect.

Smooth rhythm, charming texture and tone, Cohen's high level, I like it very much

Miller's Crossing quotes

  • Johnny Caspar: You got references? You been to college? We ONLY take yeggs what's been to college, ain't that right, Dane? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! I'm joking, of course.

  • Verna: That's not why you came, either.

Tom Reagan: Tell me why I came.

Verna: [seductively] The oldest reason there is.

Tom Reagan: There are friendlier places to drink.
