The magnificence of the ocean makes this film

At first I thought it was an adapted version of Moby Dick. Later, the film review said it was actually adapted from a separate book, The Tragic Fate of the Whaler Essex—the two books are obviously closely related. Melville's moby dick should be written first. The seascape of the film is realistic, the mighty power of the ocean is magnificent but not excessive, the whaling scene is meticulous and credible, the violent conflict between man and nature fighting is resolved when the first officer faces the beluga whale and puts down the trident, drifting. The tension between Dayang’s fear and hope is well balanced. Long Howard's skill needless to say, the chief mate is still like Thor, and other actors are good. The cg is good. After watching "Moby Dick", it is enough to score four points.

Originally, I was distressed to say that the box office is too low and unscientific, but it is really a very ordinary film, where is the texture of rush? !

Although Brother Hammer and the captain in the film have great looks and good sound and visual effects, although the actors are very hardworking, the characters experience unimaginable bumps and show courage, but the film can't shock me, the characters can't get my sympathy, why They killed a lot of whales, and what they encountered can only be described as "you deserve it", which shows that if the movie can't move people's hearts, everything is useless, even Hammer loses weight.

In the Heart of the Sea quotes

  • Old Thomas Nickerson: The tragedy of the Essex is the story of men. And a Demon.

  • Old Thomas Nickerson: [from trailer] We were headed for the edge of sanity... like we were aberrations, phantoms. Trust gave way to doubt. Hope to superstition.
