The real history of papacy

This is a film based on true events, telling the story of the previous Pope who abdicated to the next Pope after a scandal was exposed.

Seriously, before watching this movie, we may have always felt that the Pope was far away from us, as if it were a medieval thing.

But in fact, the Pope of Rome has always existed, and its influence is still very high in the world. And this also proves in reverse that religious believers have very high expectations for the Pope. And the previous pope, who has been exposed to scandal, is indeed not suitable to stay in this position. The whole church needs fresh blood, someone needs to lead the congregation, and it needs to be in line with the new era. The new Pope is just such a person, upright and easy-going, following the trend of the times, which is in line with the expectations of the contemporary church.

This also makes me feel that no matter what it is, nothing stays the same. Religion and regulations will change over time. Only those who truly care about the general public can not be abandoned by the times, even if it is a high-ranking pope. But fortunately in religion, no one will be completely abandoned, although there are still sins, but God will still forgive them.

2019.12.24 Pope Frances is now the king of rock and roll in the religious world. I could see tears flying.

The Two Popes quotes

  • Pope Francis: And remind you that truth may be vital, but without love, it is unbearable. Caritas in veritate.

  • Pope Francis: We are seeing a globalization of indifference. There is a culture of conflict, which makes us think only of ourselves. Makes us live in soap bubbles which, however lovely, are also insubstantial. We've become used to the suffering of others. It doesn't affect me. No one in our world feels responsible. Who is responsible for the blood of our brothers and sisters? The refugees washed up on the shores of the Mediterranean? I don't have anything to do with it.Must be someone else. Certainly, not me. When no one is to blame everyone is to blame.
