"Dead Silence"

Atsuko Hitoshi

A line that runs through the plot: "Now, who's the dummy?"

At the very beginning of the film, one thing is explained: the soul will speak through the abdomen of the living person, known as the 'ventriver.'

This sentence implies that, as a ventriloquist performer, Mary Shaw has a soul in her belly.

The male protagonist Jamie's wife didn't scare me when she died, I was even worried about the watchability of the movie, and I didn't think the shock was so scary, but her mouth was really wide open, a little exaggerated. Infiltrate people.

One of my favorite episodes is the middle of the movie where Henry tells the story in the theater where Mary Shaw performs ventriloquism and it's normal at first until the little boy says something very offensive: I saw her Mouth moved.

The reality of this scene brought shock and embarrassment, and grievances hatched in the quiet atmosphere. It grabbed my attention instantly.

In fact, it doesn't take much to find out that Mary Shaw's mouth is indeed moving, just like the performance I watched on TV, the lips are moving slightly. But soon, Mary Shaw's resentment woke the soul in her belly, Billy. Billy was going crazy, it was going to prove for Mary Shaw, and Mary Shaw was going to prove Billy. The two quarreled at the same time, and this performance instantly conquered the audience. But the boy's unyielding expression ultimately doomed him to a tragic end.

“Now, who’s the dummy?”

The little boy (Little Mike) was tortured as a puppet and eventually died, he was a puppet. As a spectator, or a ventriloquist audience, the little boy (Little Mike) committed a major taboo, and it was also the leading point for Mary Shaw to make all those who harmed her 'quiet'.

At first I thought my stepmother Ella was abnormal (she was the one who did it), but I really didn't think she was the soul of Mary Shaw's belly, as she said, the evil spirit was so angry that she wanted to take everything from the murderer. Bloodline revenge.

At the end of the story, Jamie killed all of Mary Shaw's 101 children, and Mary Shaw also killed all of Jamie's relatives. In the final battle between Mary Shaw and Jamie, Mary Shaw won.

The most terrifying thing will never be the terrifyingly grown mouth, not the eyes of the puppet, but the prying eyes that have been hidden in the depths - she is the ventriloquist who manipulates the father (the puppet). , she never stops her show with proof.

Jamie was terrified from the bottom of his heart, and he couldn't suppress his screams.

Now, who's the idiot?

The whole movie is shrouded in a weird and trembling atmosphere. The only regret is that the handsome male protagonist of the horror film has not shown his body from beginning to end, huh!

There is a suspense, that is the protagonist's father-this is the most exciting part of the whole film. In addition, the doll formation section is also very beautiful.

Dead Silence quotes

  • Lisa Ashen: [Holding Billy] Oh my God, this reminds me of that poem from when we were kids.

    Jamie Ashen: What poem?

Lisa Ashen: You remember, come on. That old ghost story about the woman who had all those dolls. "Beware the stare of Mary Shaw, she had no children only dolls" and something something scary, something something... Boo!

    [Holds Billy up suddenly]

Jamie Ashen: [Not at all surprised] I think you're having just a little too much fun there Lise.

  • Lisa Ashen: [to Billy] If you get Jamie to scream, I'll make sure you get 7 minutes in heaven with my old Barbie. Deal?

    [imitating voice for Billy]

    Lisa Ashen: Yes Lisa.

    [normal voice]

Lisa Ashen: God I'm such a loser.
