"How happy the pure virgin Vesta is!
Forgotten the world, and also forgotten by the world, the
beautiful soul shines with eternal sunshine!
Every prayer is accepted, and every wish can be given up."
-Alexander Pope's

film The name comes from the poem "Eloisa to Abelard" by the British 18th-century poet Alexander Pope. This poem comes from a true love tragedy in the 12th century in France.
Philosopher Pierre Abelard (Pierre Abelard) fell in love with his 22-year-old student Heloise (Heloise), because he was afraid of affecting his status, Abelard was only in the country and Eloise. Married, this marriage has not been made public. Eloise's uncle was furious when he heard the news and hired two men to castrate Abelard in the dead of night. Abrad, who suffered severe physical and mental damage, became a monk, and Eloise also entered the monastery. For the next ten years, the two had no contact at all. One day in the eleventh year, Abelard learned that his friend’s life was not going well, so he wrote down his experience to comfort him, and recalled the good time with Eloise. Discuss philosophy and poetry together, never tire of kissing, hugging, and sweet quarrels to discover the unknown of love. When Eloise saw the transcript of this letter, her heart surged, because even if the time flew by, her love for Abelard never disappeared. A total of seven letters were written between them, discussing love, marriage and philosophy. Although they never met or had intersections afterwards, their stories touched countless people, including Alexander Pope, who wrote this poem full of questions and sorrow.

Movies and poetry seem to have nothing to do with each other, but in fact they are inextricably linked, and every pair of lovers can find their own shadows. Like the above story, even though it is beautiful when you fall in love, there is always a haze of reality that covers the lovers' eyes, so they quarrel and estrange until they finally separate. But when the memories go back, they are all unforgettable beautiful fragments, which knock people down at a certain moment.
"The Eternal Sunshine of the Beautiful Mind" tells a story about amnestics. Different from the previous "Wang Qing Shui" and "Meng Po Tang", the director uses a jokingly grotesque but extremely charming technique to depict a puzzle-like world. Those puzzles are the pictures of lovers discarded by everyone. He uses unique Re-combining them in a way, coupled with sometimes running and sometimes low rhythm, finally let the protagonist and the audience find the last piece of the puzzle, connecting the whole movie, and hitting the soul.
The movie started on the morning when Joey had a whim. He was tired of going to work on time every day and taking the same train. Today he wants to fall in love with a strange woman, which is not like him at all.
Prior to this, Joey and his girlfriend Klemet deleted each other's memories, trying to solve the painful memories they brought together. The people sitting in the hospital where the memories were deleted were haggard and sad, and they were holding objects about memories. Valentine’s Day gifts, products purchased together, pictures drawn together... Every memory is accumulated and erased from here. But they didn't expect that how much pain a relationship brings must also bring too much happiness. When Joey erased his memory, he realized that Klemet's shadow was all in his life. In addition to the unpleasant conversations and the unbearable shortcomings, there are so many good memories — conversations in the library, squabbles during meals, warmth during hugs... The
first time I saw her, it was At the party on the beach, she was a striking orange. God, he thought to himself, who would dress like this? She ran over, smiled and thanked God that she was not the only person who was not sociable, and then grabbed the chicken drumsticks from his plate without his permission and ate it. At that moment, the air was filled with wonderful intimacy. In this way, she blows into his regular life like a whirlwind. She always gave him the excitement of riding a roller coaster, playing with her own tricks like a little witch, and was so happy that he could turn his jokes around every time. Later, these reasons for his petting turned into shortcomings that made him intolerable. Quarrel, drunkenness, anger, hurt words. Everything happened naturally and irreversibly. In fact, she just needs someone to truly understand her and give her care, not just treat her as an accessory to her life, she is so insecure.

Kate Winslet's performance is very careful and dazzling, and it is absolutely impossible to fault. Klemet is beautiful, and beautiful things are actually fragile and need to be cared and cared for. She has a strong sense of inferiority, eager to be truly discovered her beauty, not just fascinated by her appearance.
Kim Carey once again proved his free acting skills. Joey's introverted and shyness and some hesitations were vividly interpreted by him, and he proved that the director was right to choose him instead of Nicholas Cage. . His slightly nervous little movements made him feel intensely uneasy and overwhelmed. This time his distorted face was no longer a hip-hop, but a deep pain.

When Joey saw the beauty between them for the first time in his memories, he pitifully said to those who erased his memories, can I keep this point?
It's a pity that no one can hear him.
The world around him was collapsing, and tomorrow morning he would completely forget Klemet. He began to flee with the girlfriend in his memory, until he was a child-the times that made him ashamed, the problems that every boy had to face when he grew up.
This is my favorite part and the most brilliant part of the performance of the two.
The childhood kitchen.
Joey got under the table. For children, they are always alone, and no one will pay attention to their opinions. The safest place is under the table. You can avoid the whole world, dangling with your feet up, watching your mother's feet walk around without being noticed. Kim Carey’s performance is full of contradictions but so reasonable. When he played a child, he seemed to have really returned to that era, still childish, but he has a kind of sadness and fear that is hard to erase. It should be the feelings that people who have experienced growth and tempering will have. And when he showed childishness as an adult, it really made people feel that he always had a feeling that stayed in his childhood-that kind of disapproval. The shot of smashing a bird with a hammer in a robe reminded me of a ballad about "killing a robin". The robin is a harmless bird, but they killed it. Children always use that kind of cruel game to prove their bravery. It is a kind of cruelty in nature, and people can't help but feel chills.
The scenes are constantly switching, from one memory to another, and the surrounding scenery goes from cold winter to midsummer to another midwinter. There is no sense of panic. They gradually discovered that after getting along for so long, they didn't understand each other at all. They just portrayed the ideal image in their hearts, and didn't really get into each other's hearts. At the beach where they met, Joey finally said goodbye to Clemette. He understood that holding her tightly again and again couldn't save anything, and he must live in her heart next time.
The villa began to collapse, and his girl disappeared in his memory. It's like the TV is turned off.
Black screen. Nothing seems to have happened.

While erasing Joey's memory, there is another relationship happening at the same time. Mary, a nurse at the amnestic hospital, fell in love with the doctor Howard, who was much older and had a family. Pope's verses were also from her. When she read it, she seemed to be singing a ballad. Every time she mustered up the courage to confess to him, she would find that they had fallen in love many times, and every time she deleted her memory, she would still fall in love with him like a sunflower looking at the sun.
Yes. There is a kind of eternal light in the hearts of those who are pure, which will not disappear with the annihilation of memory-that is the light of love. So, what if you forget everything about that person? When I met him, I would still fall in love with him again, and be moved by the same smile of the same person. Because what they erased is the memory, not her heart. At that moment, she was standing in front of him, but she didn't know that they had loved each other deeply.
What kind of sorrow is that.

At the end of the film, it was back to the beginning. Joey skipped work for no reason, wanting to fall in love with a strange woman, such a crazy behavior is not like him at all. In fact, if someone has ever been to your world, something will always seep into your body and become an indelible part of your life. That is the result of the influence and integration of two people who love each other. After so much, everyone will learn something. If you blindly avoid the pain caused by those things, then the pain will never end, like an endless nightmare.
Everyone will have a deep scar in their heart. It doesn't matter, that will teach you how to love better.

Movie broom^^
The screenwriter of the film, Charlie Kaufman, is one of the few outstanding original authors in Hollywood. He once wrote "Become John Malkovich" and "Adapted Screenplay", and he is familiar with this kind of time-space story. "Adapted screenplay" is an attempt to continuously intersect multiple stories. Although Nicholas Cage's superb performance is present, it is difficult to conceal the void of the whole story. Without those cleverly arranged scenes, there is only an empty shell left. This time, "The Eternal Sunshine of the Beautiful Heart" fully expounds the author's views on the feelings of men and women, sentimental but full of humor. Those wonderful dreams, like the magic broom of a witch, took the audience to wander the entire fantasy world. Of course, the director Michel Gandry from France definitely contributed. Similar to Tom Tykway’s "Lola Run", their works have a strong style of music video, the splicing of fragments, and the right rhythm, but Michelle and Tykway are different. He likes to knock a story. Broken, seemingly unintentionally recombined them, but it seems effortless, the director firmly grasped the emotional direction of the audience. Nowadays, many directors who have made music videos are on the big screen, but many people will not use what they have learned and get tired of it.
Every actor in the movie performed very well. What surprised me was seeing Mark, who played the role of a doctor. Whether in "April Fragments", "XX/XY" or "Life Without Me", he always has a unique shy temperament, always staying in his own world. , Will always make mistakes, never grow up. Maybe this is the characteristic of being an idol, but he should have some breakthroughs if he wants to make a world of Hollywood.
Finally, review that sentence again. In this forgotten world, there is always eternal sunshine shining in the hearts of those pure people.

Handheld shooting, the golden age of clip editing. The interlaced structure of time and space plays well, and Ning Hao's "Blooming in Heart" definitely borrowed from this film. In addition, the story line is a bit stiff. I also think that the girl’s admiration for the doctor was obvious from the beginning, and the intimacy with the boy was too arrogant. Although she knew that it would definitely change the story in the end, she still behaved. It's too abrupt and not natural enough.
