The PCT basically follows the highest ridges of the Cascade Range and Sierra Nevada in the western United States, starting from the U.S.-Canadian border in the north, to the U.S.-Mexico border in the south, and running through Washington, Oregon, and California. State, with a total length of 2,650 miles (4265 kilometers), passing through 25 national forests and 7 national parks along the way, including Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington State and Crate Lake in Oregon National Parks and California's Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks.

Leaving the desert of Southern California and heading to the high mountains, 95% of the high mountain route overlaps with the famous (John Muir Trail). The highest point of the trail is the Forester Pass of 4009m.

The John Muir Trail extends from the foot of the Half Dome in the Yosemite Valley to the top of Mount Whitney at an altitude of more than 4,400 meters, passing Ansel· Adams Wilderness, Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, with a total length of about 356 kilometers. Traveling from north to south, it takes about 3 weeks to traverse the entire trail.
