"The X-Files II" - We don't want nostalgia

I think I'm more than half a fan of "X-Files"! When I was very young, as long as I played "X-Files", I would never change the channel. All DVDs of X-Files that have been played are also included. In anticipation of this film, I took the time to briefly browse the first three seasons of "X-Files" some time ago.
But it seems to me like a "dirge" rather than a complete film. It's more about meeting some of the fans' last expectations. It could be argued that the director (who also wrote X-Files) used this film to kill Mulder and Scully.
The main film is interspersed with 2 open-line plots and 1 dark-line plot. The open line is "Finding the Missing FBI Agent" and "Treatment of Children With Brain Tumors", and the dark line is "The Amour of Mulder and Scully". The connection between the three episodes is extremely weak. In the open line of "Finding the Missing FBI Agent", there are 2 sub-lines "The Missing FBI Agent" and "The Kidnapped Swimming Girl", and the handling of these two places in the plot is extremely vague, causing the audience to disagree. Looking closely, it is not even clear whether the "missing FBI agent" or the "kidnapped swimmer" was finally put on the operating table! What makes people more confused in the later stage of the film is what kind of connection there is between "psychic" and "head-changing doctor"! And "rescue children with brain tumors" What is the significance of the whole film? What does the mysterious priest in the hospital imply? Wait, wait, etc. Too many plots are handled in place and it makes people dizzy.
I checked the records of director Chris Carter, who has been one of the writers of the X-Files series, but has no experience directing movies. Personally, I feel that its control of the plot and editing is very rookie, which is also one of the main reasons why the plot of the whole movie is too far-fetched.
Maybe it is indeed "X-Files" fans who can understand many of the plot arrangements, but Fans did not watch this film to comfort their "X-Files" feelings, but hope to see the film full of sci-fi suspense thrillers The story-tight unknown X-Files...
