Fall in love with SETA

I told Nanako that I wanted to watch "Silk" for a long time, but it was delayed until tonight because of many trivial matters. Either way, I was too impetuous to watch this film quietly, and I couldn't understand the meaning of the story that the film wanted to tell.
"Silk" is based on Alessadro Barrico's novel "Seta" of the same name. Barrico is Chu Lei's favorite writer. "Seta" is Chu Lei's favorite work. I still remember when I was a sophomore in high school, Chu Lei gave us the regret of not being able to turn over "Seta" during the extensive reading class, and there was some vague imprint on the small chapter of "Seta" explained in the extensive reading class.
The rhythm of the film is very slow, and the pictures are as delicate as oil paintings, which are in line with the style of the original novel.
The steam of the hot spring at the beginning of the film,
slowly, the face of a Japanese woman gradually became clear, gradually surfaced, and
the curtain of the story slowly rose.
A small town in France, his fateful encounter with her, playing in the woods. Later, marriage is used to prove love, but happiness is only fleeting like fireworks.
He pointed to a deserted ridge and told her that it would be our garden in the future.
That moment was so sweet. After all, the two lovers cannot escape the test of distance.
After embarking on a mission to a foreign country, he is attracted by a Japanese woman. Her strands of hair, her frown and smile, she gently held up the teacup he had drunk. She stared at him, but fell on the other man's lap. She may love him, but she puts another woman's hand in his and turns away.
At this time, she was guarding the garden, full of beloved lilies. When the garden was full of flowers, he finally welcomed him back, but from his every move, his eyes and demeanor, he was aware of his subtle betrayal.
She didn't say anything, just stayed by his side silently, even when he insisted on embarking on the journey again, she didn't stop her.
He returned to the faraway country he longed for, but he could only see the woman who made him fascinated by the sedan chair in front of him.
After returning to the country, he received a mysterious letter, telling of his affection for the girl who met by chance.
He was still determined to live peacefully with her, who pledged eachother. It's just—God is so unfair, she passed away early at a young age.
He buried her among the lilies. After a while, he realized that the letter was originally written by her.
It's just that, no matter how beautiful the scenery is, the person beside me who loves me deeply is no longer there.
It was still a mist of steam, and
it did appear on her face, and then slowly descended.

PS I like the letter in the film very much. I found the original English text on the Internet and shared it. The OST of the movie is good, the work of Sakamoto Ryuichi.
my beloved,
do not be afraid,
do not speak,
stay as you are ,
i'm here at your side,
do u feel me?
when i touch you for the first time,
you will feel the warmth,
but you will not know where,
perhaps it would be on your eyes,
who could ever erase this moment?
there is no end to it,don't you see?
what we were meant to do , we have done,
believe me, my love ,
we have done it forever,
and it serves your happiness,
do not hesitate for a moment...
to forget this woman, who now says...
without a trace of regret.....farewell.....

Still good, the picture is beautiful. Especially in the final ending, the actor knows that the letter was written by his wife, which makes people feel that they have gained a lot. However, although michael pitt is young and takes the literary route, he really doesn't like his appearance. As for another Japanese actress, Ashina, who was released through the movie, I can't compliment her on her appearance or performance. She was just a trickster before, and she was not famous. I don't know how Hollywood fell in love with her.

Silk quotes

  • Hélène Joncour: What is it?

    Hervé Joncour: It's your garden.

    Hélène Joncour: It's my garden?

Hervé Joncour: Well, not quite. Not yet. For now, it's a plot of land. Our land. And the house is also ours. This is where we'll grow old Helene.

Hélène Joncour: But I don't understand...

Hervé Joncour: The eggs have hatched, they're perfect. This year's production will be huge, and Baldabiou has already paid us our share. We're rich, Helene. We're very very rich!

Hélène Joncour: [Awestruck] And this for such tiny eggs...

  • Baldabiou: There seems to be some trouble in Japan...
