All in all, The Collector's novels and films have complementary effects, and both are recommended for everyone to enjoy.
The outstanding performance of the two actors, especially the male lead Terence Stamp, is really impressive and is one of the icons that swayed England in the 1960s. This film is a rare and heterogeneous work by William Wheeler. Although it did not win any important awards at the Oscars, it is very rare (the same film) to include the best actor and actress of the current Cannes Film Festival.
(Note: Many people rated it as "cultivating desire in a forbidden room", which is very strange and will mislead people into thinking that this is a perverted Japanese AV film! This 1965 old film is described as "cultivating desire in a forbidden room", Rather, it is more appropriate to say that it is a film that "explores the despair and fear that cannot be communicated between people", although......the number of words is large! The above is purely personal opinion.)
