Why can't I get out of the two-story building in the movies I watch?

I've watched a lot of them, and they're all two-story dramas that can be tossed from beginning to end. The women keep screaming, screaming, screaming, screaming, and messing up.

Why didn't this woman sound the fire alarms all over the parking lot? In American dramas, don't you often see the protagonist press the button when he wants to escape, and the whole building runs away! ! Even my dilapidated office building in the third world has... If there is no such building, how does it pass the fire inspection?
