I don't know if the version shown in the cinema has been abridged. But the heroine's confession about masturbation at the beginning of the film really struck me. Although men are willing to meet this kind of hungry and thirsty woman, it is also a terrible thing from the perspective of the hero.
The first half of the movie is very exciting and full of laughs. But too much laughter is not necessarily a good thing. People who laugh too much tend to get tired, especially after the rhythm suddenly slows down. The second half of the film is mainly about love, which is somewhat disappointing. And the film repeatedly emphasizes "genes" in the dialogue. Is it a bit harsh for those viewers who happen to have poor genes?
You know, masturbation can be controlled, status can be fought for, money can be stolen, but Gene, I'm sorry, you can't do plastic surgery.
I don't know anything about movies, but I still think the second half should not be so mundane, at least it can rise to the height of human nature. People can stop lying, but they can't get rid of bad habits such as selfishness, greed, and jealousy. The handsome guy with glasses is an example. Wouldn't it be more meaningful for the male protagonist to use the identity of God's messenger to do some efforts to prevent war, massacre, and destruction, but still end in failure, thus thoroughly revealing human nature? Better than loving a woman who says she needs good genes.
People are people, they are animals, the big deal is not to lie.
Regardless, it's a movie worth watching. I took the film to a very high point in tears at one point when the male protagonist lied to comfort his dying mother. Sadly, the hero's insistence on loving a woman who is masturbating before a date degrades the taste of the film. Moreover, the prophecy that everyone will have a villa after death makes me think that a large number of people living at the bottom of society will seek their own death. After all, house prices are too expensive.
