Silent Violence Aesthetics

This film has been advancing in an uneasy tone. Contradictions are everywhere, but the parties have been avoiding them. When everything is irreversible, conflicts are inevitable. In the moment when the anger broke out, it was suddenly refreshing....
It is not a sadness when the justice of the society needs to be weakened to the point where it needs an old man with emphysema to maintain. Democracy brings civil rights, for all citizens, and for the dregs of society.
Those days we fought for something, nowadays, we fight for nothing....maybe only for drugs/sex. The collective anger and riots in the last scene have no place. Looking back on life, we are not surrounded by violence and unspoken rules. Although this is a so-called old man's revenge movie, it is not an insinuation of violent reality.

Noel Winters: Well you haven't. He's still out there now, doing what he's always done. You know how? I *am* my old man.

  • Stretch: What do you want a gun for, brother?

Harry Brown: I want to shoot the pigeons... off my roof.
