Nolan's debut, a 70-minute film, shot in black and white, costing $6,000, shot every weekend in his spare time in 1996. The rest of the crew were his alumni at UCL Film, and the other was John Nolan. Mystery guest stars as police officers. Non-linear narrative makes a regular story full of charm. Of course, even with regular narrative, this deceitful story still has a unique allure. First reveal a so-called answer, and then reveal the final answer when everyone believes it to be true, and some small details that serve the final answer are carelessly interspersed in the previous plots, and in the end, they are linked together to give the final shock. It may seem a little too stylized to a well-known director, but an up-and-coming director will always make this stylized film admirable.

  • Cobb: That's what it's all about - interrupting someone's life, making them see all the things they took for granted. Like when they go back and buy all this stuff from the shelves with the insurance money, they'll have to think for the first time in a long time why they wanted all this stuff, what it's for. You take it away, and show them what they had.
