How did Waldo become an instant hit?

The British general election is approaching, scandals are frequent, and people from all parties have appeared in the media to win public opinion. The former culture minister, Mr Monroe of the Conservative Party, came to Waldo's children's education show, and was humiliated by Waldo when answering the question of what is a Politician, and this has forged a grudge.

Mr.Monroe protested against Waldo in the media, and the media took this opportunity to build momentum for Waldo, such as creating the Waldo app, Waldo pilot, and humiliating Mr. Monroe in the street many times to win attention, especially the attention of young people. The boss, Jack (the ruffian with two big smoking guns still looks like a ruffian) strikes while the iron is hot, and has the idea of letting Waldo run for election. Jamie initially protested, but couldn't help the crazy boss and had to participate.

At the same time, Jamie meets young Labour candidate Gwendolyn Harris and develops a mutual affection. After a night of romance, the happy Jamie wanted to have further contacts with Harris, but Harris decided to temporarily keep a distance from Jamie because of a warning from his colleagues. Jamie was hurt by Harris' indifference.

In a quiz show for media students, Monroe and Harris were present, and Waldo was invited. Monroe, who came prepared, made a personal attack on Jamie. After the humiliation, Jamie scolded the hypocrisy of political party candidates, including Harris, showing no mercy at all. After the show was broadcast, the video was uploaded to Youbue, with millions of views, and netizens even called on Waldo to form a new party. Jamie was exhausted.

Outcome: A New Democracy in the Internet Age?
An excerpt from a dialogue between Jack and Jamie:
Jamie: Waldo is not real!
Jack: Exactly! That's what you said that really hit home. He's not real, but he's realler than all the others.
Jamie: He doesn't stand for anything!
Jack:Yeah, well, at least, he doesn't pretend to…Any decision that has to be made, any policy, we'll just put it online. Let the people vote. Thumbs up, thumbs down, the majority wins . That's the democracy, that's an actual democracy.

But, is that a real democracy?
Here's the answer of a US agent:
'You've got a global political entertainment product people actually want.' ' Like Pringles
?'(Jamie asked)
'Absolutely.' is a new path to democracy. At least that's what 'naive and honest' Britons think, but in the eyes of smart American brothers, it's all just a new political game. Naturally, Waldo won't win the election because it can't make promises about actual reforms and construction. But it can be used to fan the flames and bring down bad opponents. At least, after finishing the game in the UK, you can also take it to a South American country to disrupt the game. As shown at the end of the play, manipulation of elections is not enough, and Waldo can be made into a brand to invigorate international trade. How big is the virtual freedom brought by the Internet? You can hide behind a mask, abuse and ridicule traditional authority figures at will; you can trigger onlookers at events, incite public sentiment, and cause public pressure. Add some advanced computer skills and become a hacker, and one can have more power. But more often, while we enjoy these rights and powers, we also become Jamie, become involuntary, and become the pawn of the big man behind the scenes. It's not a voice of a blue bear; there's always somebody behind the screen.

The first episode was the best~

The third episode is a prophecy of the Italian political situation! The "Perfect Inflatable Doll" in the first episode is too creepy! Human beings are both lovely and hateful because I am imperfect yet seek perfection, and fear perfection when approaching perfection. Robots/celestials/aliens who were supposed to fall in love with humans in the past have some flaws enough to match us.

Martha: It's not funny; It's sweet.

Ash: Trust me; that day wasn't sweet... first family outing after Jack died... When I came down the next morning all Jack's photos were gone... she put them in the attic. It's how she dealt with stuff. And then when dad died, up went his photos to the attic. She just left this one here. Her only boy giving her a fake smile

Martha: She didn't know it was fake.

Ash: Maybe that makes it worse.
