I have long heard that this film is terrible, so I don't have any expectations for this film, but after watching the film, I feel a sense of surprise. I have little comment on the film itself, after all, it is adapted from the two fairy tales "Jack and the Beanstalk" and "Jack the Giant Slayer", and I don't know much about it. It can only be said that this film is a moderately mediocre IMAX3D film. Of course, it's not a climax. All kinds of unexpected surprises in this film add a lot to this film.
Since there is no evaluation of this film, it cannot be called a viewing journal. But I have to mention all kinds of surprises in the process of watching the movie, which is simply called feeling.
The first surprise has nothing to do with the movie itself, but the first time in my life to participate in this kind of film screening. Ah, watching this kind of free movie is just a different feeling, even if the movie is bad, you can still watch it. So I went. Therefore, I don't care about the memory of the eastern suburbs and the various indignities of the Shadow Cube, and the various services are not good.
And so the movie began.
I rely on! Good punctual British accent. The film was shot in the UK, and British actors came to play it, all speaking in a pure British accent! It sounds so comfortable! This is another movie with a British accent this year after 007 Skyfall and The Hobbit! If you want to hear the British pronunciation, you can definitely watch this movie and learn about the British legend of the Giant Catcher. Anyway, group buying movie tickets is not expensive!
After speaking, let's talk about the actors. It was also a surprise. Nicholas Hoult as Beast in the X-Men prequels, Ian McShane as Blackbeard in **Pirates 4, Bill Nighy as Davy Jones in **Pirates, aka Captain Octopus, Star Wars prequels Ewan McGregor, who plays Obi-Wan Kenobi in the middle, all played important roles in the movie. As for who they play, you have to find out for yourself. Of course the actress also had a small role in Alice in Wonderland. The most important thing is the British team used throughout the film. No wonder the British accent is so pure.
Let's talk about the director's editing. In the first half of the movie, before the hero and heroine officially met, the director designed two lines for the two of them, two strikingly similar clues. First, when they were children, they listened to their parents telling stories about giants, and the camera switched back and forth between the two, so you and I will tell you the synopsis of the entire movie. Then when the two met by chance, the director used this technique again. The heroine was reprimanded by her father, and the male protagonist was reprimanded by her uncle, and the content of the lessons was almost the same, that is, the two only cared about their own adventures and completely ignored their family and relatives, saying The two men lacked a sense of responsibility. The camera switches back and forth between these two scenes, and it is also a sentence on one side. It seems that the two sides are unrelated, but they are actually saying the same thing. However, perhaps it is precisely because of the similar growth experiences of the male and female protagonists that the two finally decided to meet and love each other.
Giants are ferocious beasts, but this fairy tale's depiction of giants is more interesting and less brutal. For example, in the Kingdom of Giants, the scene where the giant bakes the captain of the Royal Guard is very interesting and funny.
Of course, the highlight is the final battle between giants and humans. In fact, giants fight against humans, and the results can be imagined. But the director's handling made the situation seem evenly matched. The director designed a siege battle. The two sides fought so hard that they even tug-of-war over the drawbridge. But after all, humans are not as good as giants, and in the end the giants broke through. At this time, the director designed a very cold and humorous plot. After the giant attacked, all of them suddenly knelt down and saluted. Everyone was at a loss. Suddenly, the captain of the royal guard said something about someone behind me, and then turned around to see the hero and heroine walking out together. This place is exactly the same as the scene at the beginning of the movie. At that time, the heroine went out of the palace privately and was entangled by several drunken men. The hero was a hero to save the beauty. Suddenly everyone in front of him knelt down and salute. The hero also said at a loss if there was someone behind him. The captain of the guard appeared behind him to protect the heroine. A similar scene, but the position of the captain of the royal guard and the male protagonist has been swapped, isn't it very cold and humorous? As for why the giant kneels, everyone will know after watching the movie.
Of course, although the director's design is very ingenious, it made me have a feeling of unfinished business. The war came to an abrupt end as soon as it reached its climax, and I had no choice but to cry out for being deceived.
In general, no matter what the so-called reputation of this movie on the Internet is, whether it is good or bad, you have to watch it for yourself. Just like the author, I always thought this movie was bad, so I didn’t want to watch it. As a result, I watched it by chance, only to find that this film can't be called bad, it can only be said to be quite satisfactory, but the surprise in this film is still worth the price of the ticket.

It's just a fairy tale, don't use your brain at all and watch the 3D effect. The good guys will win and the bad guys will lose. , it's already a fairy tale anyway...

Jack the Giant Slayer quotes

  • Isabelle: You know, for someone who's not wildly keen on heights, you're doing awfully well.

Jack: Yeah, I've been doing a little trick Crawe taught me.

    Isabelle: What's the trick?

Jack: Picture something just ahead of you within arm's reach.

[helps Isabelle down so she is within arm's reach]

Jack: Something that makes you happy.

    Isabelle: Sounds easy enough.

    Jack: It really is.

  • Jack: Isabelle, hold on tight.

[grabs a liana he has cut in the giant tree]

    Jack: Ready?

    Isabelle: No...

    Jack: JUMP!

[they jump from the falling tree, hanging on to the liana. They swing around the tree before the tree begins to fall alarmingly fast and they are headed for the ground]

    Isabelle: Jack, hold me!

[Jack sees a haystack, aims for it and lets go. They hit it, but keep gliding forward in the mud, heading for a sharp farm object. They stop just in the nick of time for hitting it]

Jack: Well, that worked out better than I expected.
