1. After experiencing emotional setbacks, older women still have a first love-like desire for love. After a brief hesitation (that David's age was shrinking from the first date), he was still fully engaged, and both of them had a spark of passion in their eyes. This adds a lot to the movie. (In reality, the age gap between the actors is only 8 years, which seems to be quite a good match, and the director's choice is correct.)
