Simple and direct, violent and cold-blooded

I have seen three Brazilian movies, all of them are about the rampant crime and chaos in Brazil. The way of telling the story of the movie is simple and direct, and the shooting method is very realistic, whether it is the change of the near and far lens or the following shaking.
After watching this film, the immediate feeling is "noisy". The whole film is full of gunshots, beatings, and shouts that are going to break the eardrums from beginning to end. The way of telling the plot is very direct, showing the violent and cold-blooded criminals and the police's behavior of "violating violence", revealing many social problems in Brazil, and at the same time, it also gives people a hint of despair. In this society, how should justice and integrity exist, and how should the phenomenon of rampant crime at a younger age be stopped?
Brazil's film about its own social problems is worthy of praise.

Elite Squad quotes

  • Capitão Nascimento: Mr. 02, you'll never make it through this course, you know why? It's not because you are fucking weak and have no fiber. It's because you're a crooked cop, Mr. 02, and to wear this badge

    [taps the skull badge]

Capitão Nascimento: you gotta have character. You don't belong here, Mr. 02, you belong with the hookers and the pimps, Mr. 02. You belong with the abortion clinics. Crooked cops don't join BOPE, Mr. 02.

  • Baiano: [Baiano is surrounded by the BOPE soldiers, having a handgun pointed to his face] ... N-not in the face, boss.

    Capitão Nascimento: Say what?

Baiano: Don't shoot my f-face, you'll ruin my funeral...

Capitão Nascimento: [Capitão Nascimento puts the handgun away] Soldier 07, hand me the 12-gauge.

    Baiano: Please no, boss...

Capitão Nascimento: [Handing the 12-gauge shotgun to soldier Mathias] Do him, he's yours.
