46 feature films later, Woody Allen is back. After watching two good stories destroyed by lousy directing, Into The Forest and Captain Fantastic, finally I find another sophisticatedly made film worth recommending. Cafe Society is probably the best Woody Allen film after Match Point. He is back in New York (and LA) to tell a story about love, death & human nature. It is not Annie Hall or Manhanton, which probably cannot be remade in NY, but the Woody Allen spirit I really like is back, maybe because the investment and freedom given by a non-traditonal studio, Amazon. This is the first Woody Allen film Amazon Stuido ordered, with a bunch of TV series/film to follow. Truly an interesting time for the film industry in the age of Neflix , Hulu and beige watching. At end of the day, "Cotent is the king".More Woody Allen films like this one, please!

[Shanghai Film Festival Screening] I was fortunate to see the Asian premiere of this film and asked the producer two questions. The movie is still very Woody Allenfan. The chatter is full of humor, sweetness, and cleverness, as well as a pile of names that fall out of a book bag. Photography and color grading are comfortable. The plot is very clichéd, but it is beautifully shot, and the ending is unexpectedly calm and warm, and it stops abruptly and has endless aftertastes. Three-and-a-half, play normal Woody Allen, outstanding in photography and fine art.
