unexpectedly tender

Really like water. The finale even gave me the feeling of being in love with the wind and some old Japanese movies. It's a surprise that such a Western-style story can do this. I didn't pay too much attention to reading "Story", or whatever, anyway, there was a presupposition for the storyline at the beginning, which was still wrong, thinking that this film was playing with structure and telling a very delicate story. In fact, the story is really good, but it should be more plain. Hahaha, the strange story is too exaggerated, I wouldn't describe this film as in the book anyway! It's neat and concise. Whether it's the understatement of some plots or the overall editing style, I was a little surprised at first, but now I'm very surprised. [ps: After thinking about it for a while, I think the editing may not be done well enough. The surprise I just watched made me forget something. If I can stop for a while in some places, there will be more emotions. This emotion is different from sensationalism. It will come out naturally, of course, "restraint" is a matter of opinion. ] Some of the schedules are very chic, I like the dialogue between the couple at the end, it's beautiful, it reminds me of many other movies. The movie's choice of the ending itself is a tender pity, how can life get better, but... this belongs to the ending of the movie!

In that kind of sunshine and land, at the moment when the scarecrow holding a branch diagonally was blown up by the wind, God's gentle mercy has come quietly.

Tender Mercies quotes

  • Mac Sledge: Well, what do you think?

Harry: I don't think it's no good either.

  • Sue Anne: There was a song you used to sing to me when I was little, I think. It was somethin' about a dove. Mama said she never heard you sing it to me, but - I think it went somethin' about a "on the wings of a snow-white dove, he sends his somethin'-somethin' love."

    Mac Sledge: I don't remember that. I don't.
