What the invisible man hides is the restraint on himself

A recent chance brought me back to the thriller crime movie "The Invisible Man" that I watched as a child. At that time, I thought it was a superhero movie, and I always expected the protagonist to show great power, punish the strong and eliminate the evil, and rob the rich and help the poor. At that time, I simply thought it was the side effect of the drug that made the male protagonist grumpy. Looking at it now, I already understand that the root of the male protagonist's change is because he has mastered the superhuman ability and the pleasure of being undiscovered.

A genius is like a male protagonist. At first, he just wanted to complete his research. He has a kind nature. But when he became transparent, he experienced all kinds of fun. He could not be discovered by others, he could eavesdrop on other people's speeches, listen to himself behind his back, and peep without being discovered. He could control everything, but no one could. restrain him. He was starting to get dangerous. When he returned home, he raped his beautiful neighbor without bearing any consequences. He had fallen in love with this kind of life, so much so that in order to maintain his life, he would not hesitate to kill many of his partners. What he gains is not the ability to be transparent, but the gradual loss of restraint, whether external or self-restraint.

We always hope that we can have superhuman special abilities, but if we do, how much can we control ourselves when the outside world can no longer restrain us. Maybe you think you will become Spider-Man, but more may gradually slide to transparent people.
