No sea, nowhere to break your heart

I used to have high expectations for this film, and I liked him very much at the time, and I personally love literary films. But after reading the disappointment, I can't say where the disappointment is.

Later, after reading some books on film art and film narrative, and after watching the same type of film The Remains of the day, I finally felt "where is the disappointment". The thickness of the script, the acting skills of Anthony Hopkins and the young actors are incomparable. Especially British-style feelings, the focus is on "desperation that can't go wrong" and the subtle dislocation of character identities, rather than the enthusiasm of moths to flames. Any expression of such deep and reserved emotions does not require the actors' delicate acting skills and life logic. . In this regard, The deep blue Sea cannot compare with its predecessors.

The most important thing about a literary film is "profoundness", because it is so deep that it is deeply immersed, and only after midnight can you toss and turn.

From the picture to the emotion, from the wallpaper to the pajamas, from the background violin sound to the heroine's face... It's full of beauty!

It's beautiful, but it's really boring to shoot, and it's just like chewing wax. Compared with Brief Encounter, it's too far and too far. I can understand the heroine's state of mind, but I can't agree with her begging. The few quarrel scenes with the male lead are really loud, all kinds of voices, and Rachel Weisz's performance is not enough for her to be crowned. Overall, it is still too warm.

The Deep Blue Sea quotes

  • Freddie Page: There is nothing wrong with my mind. FUBAR.

Hester Collyer: What do you mean by that?

Freddie Page: You're the clever one, you work it out.

Hester Collyer: What the hell did you mean by that?

Freddie Page: FUBAR, acronym, fucked up beyond all recognition.

  • Hester Collyer: Ah, the garden really is glorious! Even at this time of year.

Collyer's Mother: Yes. It's my one, unalloyed pleasure. So much safer than people, don't you think?
