The cruelty of the town

I watched "American Mental Patient" and "The Tailor" consecutively all night. It also tells cruel stories in a relaxed and absurd tone. The former talks about the cruelty of big cities, while the latter talks about the cruelty of small towns. The cruelty of big cities is indifference, which comes from the lack of contact between people. In "American Psychiatric", colleagues who work together every day can't remember each other's name; when someone has been missing for many days, his so-called "friends" are indifferent, drinking and teasing sisters are business as usual. These people seem to be cold and conceited, but in fact they are lonely and there is nowhere to resolve them. The cruelty of the town is a rumor, or a kind of ubiquitous favor. Contrary to the alienation of people in big cities, there are few people in small towns. People are neighbors and know each other. Coupled with business contacts, the relationship between people is much more complicated-the patient you treat may be your child Teacher, the customer in your shop may be the husband’s boss. Too close contact is also an embarrassment. The movie "The Evaporating Morgans" starring Hugh Grant tries to portray a utopian image of a small town. There is a bridge segment: a city couple in trouble borrows a car from a small town resident, and the other party's answer is: the key is inserted. In the car, you can just drive away. The surprised couple asked, "Are you not afraid that others will quietly drive away your car and not return it to you?" The local man was even more surprised and said, you will give it back to me, right? After watching this movie, I once yearned for this kind of life in a small town full of trust and warmth. But this is a comedy with the main theme after all. In real life, the interpersonal relationship in the small town is not so good. Especially in the era when entertainment is scarce, the people in the small town use small talk to pass the time. It's hard to imagine a group of aunts sitting in front of a barn where rats are infested and discussing philosophy, art, or gravitational waves. Of course, the only thing they can chat about for an afternoon is the gossip of the town. Imagine a group of people you know but don’t really get close to you through all kinds of inexplicable channels. Isn’t it scary? Rumors can kill people, let alone lies. The designer, played by Kate, became a murderer scolded by the "people who don't know the truth" in the town because of the teacher's perjury. Her mother was obviously a victim of being abandoned by her husband, but she became a slut among the population. If the cruelty of a big city is a cold-blooded rule of "I have no obligation to save you", it is only reflected in the moment of crisis, most people can still leave a trace of luck; the cruelty of a small town is "Whether you like it or not, I It is to take care of your business. And if I want to, I can destroy your terror system. There is no justice before such a system, and the resistance of normal people seems vulnerable. Three very anti-traditional emotions in the movie The festival is set to express this: 1. The death of the male protagonist (failure of the power of love) 2. The death of the mother (failure of family affection) 3. The female protagonist helps the transformed inferiority girl to rejoin the ranks of the persecuted female protagonist (Failure of self-salvation). Obviously, such plot reversals are not for teasing, they are all paving the way for the heroine's final flame revenge-it turns out that proper means cannot break through the killings imposed on individuals by this system. Although the film deliberately produced an absurd sense of joy, I personally think that this film is more cruel than "Dogtown". The former Nicole is backed by the Mafia family, but in this film Kate gradually loses all hope of kindness when the people she loves are gone one by one.

I found that the older I get, the more I like this kind of "no forgiveness". Back to that theme again, the small-town girl's leaving is, after all, aversion and rejection of rural society. Behind the hometown that can't go back, there has never been a paradise.

The service music is super good. Kate looks like a Lancome commercial. It can also be done.
