Fishing line dancing in the sun

Thinking of this movie many years later, I still remember the fishing lines drawn on the river surface. The sunlight was shining bright and not dazzling, dancing softly.

A river that traverses hometown is a river that traverses life. Life left, passed away, passed on. Only the river is endless.

This is probably the charm of nature. And some people are born to be one with nature. They passively contend with the rules of society, staggering, but they are full of hearts. So live faithfully to yourself, and you can die at any time.

They all say that a person is responsible for his appearance after forty. Redford's wrinkled face couldn't hide the warmth and peace in his heart. I must admit that I was deeply moved by his movie, and after many years of chewing it, I still find it tasteful.

Some things that are simple on the outside can hardly conceal the gorgeousness on the inside.

A sentence in the film, this time rewatching has feelings: those who need help most often refuse other people's help.
However, in reality, who can really walk into another person's heart and really help him? The answer is always no. Only oneself can always help oneself. Many people don't want to help themselves, but don't realize that there is any deviation in the current life state. There is nothing wrong with it. If everyone is happy in the state of their lives, they should stick to it. This has nothing to do with others. Shouldn't be disturbed by the so-called rescue.

As I get older, I will have a lot of different feelings every time I re-watch some movies. I am accustomed to expressing myself in words, but I always feel that there are still many feelings outside of words.

Movies are as gorgeous as paintings, but unfortunately life is not art, and that moment will not last long.

It's really smart to not join the plot of Paul's death

A River Runs Through It quotes

  • Older Norman: [narrating] My father looked at me for a long time, just looked at me and this was the last he and I ever said to me about Paul's death. Indirectly though, he was present in many of our conversations. Once for instance, my father asked me a series of questions that suddenly make me wonder if I understood even my father, whom I felt closer to than any man I have ever known. "You like to tell true stories?" he asked and I answered, "Yes, I like to tell stories that are true." Then he asked, "After you have finished your true stories sometime, why don't you make up a story and the people to go with it? Only then will you understand what happened and why. It is those we live with and love and should know who elude us."

  • Rev. Maclean: Each one of us here today will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed? For it is true, we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it those we live with and should know who elude us. But we can still love them - we can love completely without complete understanding.
