From Frankenstein to Professor X

I don't know why I have to write this article three days before torts midterm. Maybe it was because I wanted to temporarily interrupt my review, maybe because I was shocked that Yimei was finally tall and aggressive.

The film’s biggest adaptations of the original work are concentrated in three places: 1. The role of Igor is added; 2. There is no history of Frankenstein and his brother in the original work; 3. The description of monsters in the original work is better than that in the movie. There are so many scenes.

Regarding Igor, in the first five minutes, while revealing Frankenstein's crazy personality, it perfectly showed a pair of CP's "romantic" first encounter. After the second half started to unfold, I watched it as a romantic movie, and suddenly felt that the logic was much smoother. Why did Igor, who originally planned to stop the madness, decided to stay and help him after hearing Frankenstein's father severely reprimanded him? Why should he take the risk alone to return the pocket watch to him after he has recovered a small life? Maybe this is love.

Frankenstein in the original book is sensitive and introverted by nature. He often stays at home. In the process of pursuing unknown mysteries, he gradually breaks away from normal social communication and confines himself to a small and isolated personal world. This kind of mental disorder and loneliness.

He has a strong thirst for knowledge, and what he longs to explore is the mystery of heaven and earth: "I want to figure out what power is controlling me? Is it the external matter that constitutes things, or the will of nature and the mysterious soul of man? More importantly, I want to explore a supernatural mystery in this world, that is, a mystery that does exist in essence." He also aspires to be the master of the world, eager to have a new kind of creatures to enshrine him as the creator.

He did not consider the consequences when he created this complex life form. His extraordinary ability and strong passion gave him a desire for arrogant gods. In the myths of many cultural traditions, only gods have the ability to create human beings. Those who provoked the gods to violate the power of the gods finally paid a heavy price, and the gods directly punished them. In the "Iliad", Patroclus repeatedly offended Apollo's power, and finally Apollo borrowed Hector's power for the third time. The hand killed him. The relationship between him and the monster is obviously not the relationship between the gods and the creations of the gods. The monsters are obviously not controlled by Frankenstein, and he feels intense fear and nausea when making them. The torture of chronic fever and the psychological pressure brought by contraindications also made him avoid his companions like a crime. Obviously, the pressure has exceeded his limit.

A large part of Yimei’s creation of people in the movie is because he believes that he killed his brother, and because of this, he has been reprimanded and disgusted by his father for a long time. He even looked at Prometheus and called him "brother." This is really reminiscent of steelmaking, the same genius and unknowing two brothers, because they wanted to see the smile of their deceased mother, they violated the taboo and carried out the human body training. In order to redeem the sin, the price Ed paid was that he could never use it again. alchemy. Please keep in mind Rule No.1: People cannot come back from death. Frankenstein, played by Yimei, is in sharp contrast with the detective: one thinks that since technology has been developing, there must be artificial life in the future, and he wants to make the tragedy of losing a loved one no longer happen to others; One believes that creating humans through abnormal means is an act of the devil, and the dead are in God’s space, waiting for future encounters. I don't know which one I prefer, but I can only try not to confine myself to a certain narrow aspect.

I actually can’t understand Frankenstein’s human creation activities. On the one hand, he can never create a precise and harmonious human body that grows from the laws of nature. Even if he creates a simpler but stronger body than a fragile human body, It will inevitably cause panic and rejection of normal humans; and on this physiological basis, creation has no biological genetics relatives, few friends, and without strong social bonds, Frankenstein cannot give him a place in the social group.

The monster in the movie only appeared in the last ten minutes, as a "villain", was knocked down by the two leading actors, and then disappeared. The monster in the original book is very interesting. Can we regard this creation as a human being? How can a person become a person? The monster himself is also struggling to ask this question. He is indeed a product created by Frankenstein himself after he understood and used the laws of nature: he used some organs, bones and muscles to piece together the body of a monster, and injected it with the "spark of life". Mary Shelley only calls the "spark of life" a secret in the book without explaining the specific principles. In fact, the so-called "spark of life" is a difficult problem that modern science has not been able to solve until now: even if the human brain is dissected and broken down to the smallest unit of quark level, it is impossible to find a substance called "thinking". The brain waves are only in the thinking process. The bioelectricity generated by the movement of brain cells is only an appendage of consciousness rather than consciousness itself. (Perhaps now we can use the string’s grand unification theory, but in any case this unfalsifiable hypothesis is a myth in the minds of materialists)

The monster has all the human feelings and body movements since its birth. He is sad and weeping because he feels lonely and helpless. He can also feel pure happiness because he stares at the moon. He has all the feelings of a normal person. He was violently attacked by the villagers when he first tried to actively contact humans and ask for help. So he decided not to expose himself to human eyes rashly, but chose to hide in the dark, through observations and observations on human life. Learn from books to understand human beings. On the one hand, he does not consider himself to be a human being. Because of his ugly appearance, his body shape is different from ordinary people, and he does not have the relatives, friends, property, and status as a human being, he is not a human being biologically and socially; but on the other hand, he is not a human being. With the emotion and knowledge that human beings should have, his quality is even higher than that of ordinary human beings. He tries to integrate into human society by giving kindness. It is commendable. A creation with great destructive power that is not restricted by law and manpower has acquired the pursuit of noble benevolence through fragmentary book knowledge and human models, and takes the initiative to use human high-level moral standards to demand itself. Comparing the two is like being in a huge painful abyss, and the only glimmer of hope is that he can be accepted by mankind with his inner goodwill.

Of course, I was very happy in Nii Yi Mei and Dan Ni CP, and in the end Frankenstein said to Igor: "you are my greatest creation", is it here that Yi Mei realizes that saving and educating the delinquent youth is the right way , Since then, in the incarnation of Professor X, opened the Xavier Genius Academy, and began to learn from the world’s talents? Daniel's height _(:з"∠)_ is rotten 2333 The plot is like that, the back is a farce, but the background of the times is irresistible, the clothes and buildings are so beautiful, and the blond brother is also very cute.
