Don Quixote who challenges the windmill

According to my standards, Steins;Gate's animation production level can reach about three and a half, but it still scored five stars, which can be regarded as a tribute to the production team.

I can be very responsible to say that the foundation of animation and the game are completely different. Even if the plot is the same, they are two completely different things.

From BGM to coloring to person setting to background, the animation is gloomy and messy. With the color and composition, it forms a cramped sense of space and a tense atmosphere. It produces a strong chemical reaction with the seemingly daily but misty plot itself. It turned out a kind of cyberpunk taste.

This kind of tone is easily reminiscent of Hamazaki Hirotsuji’s Memoir Apocalypse, the same gloomy and irritable, and also the taste of cyberpunk, but Memoir is a torture literary film, Steins; Gate is just a love story, two kinds The completely different types create a spirited atmosphere, and I don't know whether to say he is too kind or his head is pinched by the door panel.

Fortunately, however, the production team seems to have given up torturing the audience on their ears. The first episode of BGM was occasionally mixed with electronic noise, but there was no similar noise in the subsequent episodes. This rather disturbing noise may be liked by young rockers, but I can't bear it.

I always feel that Steins;Gate’s production team is very similar to Don Quixote who challenged the windmill, both ridiculous and heroic. It's hard to imagine how successful this piece of business will be, but that doesn't prevent me from watching it, the more I like it.

Steins;Gate quotes

  • Kurisu Makise: It feels like time is passing so quickly. Damn you, Einstein! Your science is crowding in on our kiss! He was right. The passage of time depends entirely on where you're standing. Relativity Theory... it's so romantic. But it's just so tragic too.

  • Suzuha Amane: Everyone gets help from someone else at some point in their lives. So someday, you should help someone too.
