Seeing the Undead-"Thomas the Town Geek"

"Thomas the Town Geek" is definitely not a blockbuster movie, and even if I give it a score, it won't exceed 7.5 points at most. But it was such a small-cost film that made me burst into tears with a "surprising ending although not new".

Both "Thomas" and "Underworld Police" both have "detectives with yin and yang eyes, evil spirits passing through the passages of hell, and countdown to a mass extinction conspiracy", but compared with the grand office of "Underworld Police", "Thomas" is nothing short of it. A "cooking team" formed by a young man with yin and yang eyes and the director of a small town police station.

If you put aside Thomas' superpowers that can communicate with the undead. He is no different from any ordinary young man in a small town: a little restaurant chef, a girlfriend who has been a childhood friend, goes to work every day to greet guests, makes several phone calls with his girlfriend every day, picks up his girlfriend from get off work every day, and has dinner together.

But it is precisely because of his superpower that makes him very ODD. When he looks at the undead crying to him, his kind heart arouses heroic heroism. He can't ignore the sad eyes of the undead, can't Let the murderers escape, so he used his super powers to catch criminals one after another.

When a terrible massacre hits, he must also find ways to stop it. After all, he is not a god who can foresee the future, when he spares his life to save hundreds of people in the small town. The girlfriend who was predicted by the prophecy machine as "you will always be together"-Shi Dongmi died forever in this massacre.

The director's cruel heart is that he used a few shots to cover up the tragedy.

When Thomas thought his girlfriend was killed in her ice cream shop, he rushed over and saw his girlfriend stand up from behind the counter. In order to prevent more massacres, he resisted the urge to hug his girlfriend, and finally sent a car of time bombs into the ditch, saving the town.

Afterwards, he woke up in the hospital. He and his girlfriend were embraced by people like a tide. In order to have their own space, he and his girlfriend nested in his cabin to watch movies, eat, and sleep, and they did not want to be separated for a long time.

Until the sheriff came to visit and said, "You can't go on like this anymore." At this time, I thought the sheriff would continue to say: "There are new cases that need you."

But, no.

The sheriff said: "You should have let Stonemi leave." Thomas cried. What he was holding was Shi Dongmi who only he could see, Shi Dongmi who had become a dead soul. Shi Dongmi died on the day of the massacre, and the Shi Dongmi who stood up from behind the counter was already an undead.

It's just that Thomas has been reluctant to admit it.

My tears still couldn't help streaming down. I also don't want to admit that she is dead.

I don't have Thomas' superpowers, but I can believe in my dream that my departed relatives have never left. This dream is just like Thomas's performance, and he didn't want to wake up for a long time. But in the end, time will cruelly cut off these fantasies, throw you back to reality, and tell you over and over again that he has left, he has left. You can only continue by yourself.

Just as Thomas stood on the top of the mountain and said, 60 years later, we will see you again.

And in the dream last night, I dreamt that I was standing on the street with a smile, but the people who loved me looked at me with tears and reluctance.

I looked sideways into a mirror, where I saw my undead.

Very interesting mashup film, the psychic teenager solves the murder case, black humor, thrilling suspense, bizarre plot, American comic style, although the murderer and the final poignant reversal are expected, but it is still unconventional.

Odd Thomas quotes

  • Odd Thomas: Fate is not a straight road. There are many forks in it. You have the free will to choose which one you take, but sometimes it will bend around and bring you straight back to that same stubborn fate.

  • Odd Thomas: Have I ever told you you've got a lot of issues?

Stormy Llewellyn: I'm a woman. We all have issues. It's what keeps us interesting and you men interested.

Odd Thomas: Oh, yeah. It's what keeps us crazy and die younger.

Stormy Llewellyn: Do you love me?

Odd Thomas: I love you more than life itself.

    Stormy Llewellyn: See? It's working.
