War between good and evil

There are plots revealed. . . Those who have not watched the movie enter with caution.

This is a very strange movie. After watching it, it's hard to tell how I feel. I don't feel good or bad.
The movie ended abruptly. Unlike the suspense, it felt like it was never finished. Of course, it makes sense that the cameraman's head was cut off and no one continued to take care of the camera, so it was not so much the last exorcism as the last time the cameraman took pictures.
The pastor’s wife was born premature. After saving the child, the first thing in his mind was to thank the doctor, so he knew that he didn’t believe in the existence of God. Everything he taught to people and his exorcism depended more on magic. A psychotherapy that creates false images and realizes it. Tired of this kind of thing, he wanted to record his last exorcism to expose his lies, as a kind of repentance, but unexpectedly met the devil this time...
After coming out of the theater, there was a debate about whether the devil really existed. I personally think that there are some signs that the devil still exists in this film. The girl’s paintings are all fulfilled, but I don’t know if the pastor is buried in the flames as she predicted. A schizophrenic person may not have such precise predictive ability, but if the devil possesses it, it makes sense; in the end; When taking pictures of the fire scene, the camera was obviously disturbed. It was explained as a supernatural phenomenon brought about by the coming of the devil, which seemed more reasonable. The faint image of the devil in the sea of fire also matched the pictures in the book. But how the devil was born, left people with a lot of freedom to think about. The growth of girls is affected by many surrounding environments, such as fathers, dead mothers, elder brothers, local believers, fat priests...you can see from the film It is not known that except for the mother who died of cancer, what everyone else has in common is that it is difficult to say that they are "normal." Therefore, the distortion of the girl can be imagined. Compared with the distortion of her body, the distortion of the mind may be more terrifying. It is not so much that the girl is possessed by the devil, it is better to say that there are many demons living around her, destroying her simple and young heart, and gestating the devil in her heart. Regarding the girl’s pregnancy, I think her brother raped her and threatened her not to let others know that the girl was frightened because of her pregnancy, her brother, and the demons around her. So she lied and deceived everyone, but after the devil possessed, the knife cut on her brother's face could be interpreted as a kind of revenge, and in the end, his brother cut off the cameraman's head, which proved that he was not a good person. This demon is vague, maybe not attached to her, but born in her heart. Because of extreme fear and helplessness, he was finally swayed by the heart demon.
For the pastor, this last exorcism also truly realized self-salvation, which is thousands of times more profound than his revelation of the truth through photography. This is also my favorite part of this movie, which is beyond the horror. . The priest is just a warlock, earning a living by mouth and magic. Maybe he has never really driven out the devil, or he has never seen the devil, or believes in the existence of the devil. The first time he went to the girl's house, he did what he was best at. The girl's father was so moved and his pocket hemorrhage. His revealing purpose has been achieved, and the camera recorded his tricks. But we can feel that from beginning to end, the pastor is kind and really cares about this girl. Things are far from simple. After the girl appeared for the second time, the priest was really involved in this fight between good and evil. In the thatched house, the pastor confronted the devil head-on. He tried his best to control his fear, read the Bible and tried to drive the devil away. Of course the devil didn’t like to listen, so he said, “You only need to stop for 10 seconds and I will let this girl go.” The pastor It stopped. The devil broke a finger of the girl every 2 seconds. The priest couldn't bear it and shouted "Stop". The devil laughed and said to the priest, "You lost." The priest was speechless. This is the climax of the film. The implication is profound. The kind people keep their promises, the devil will not lie, the devil is playing tricks on the kind priest, and the priest is powerless to fight back. He is kind, but he is weak, he is just a warlock. This also paved the way for the end of the film. In fact, the pastor and the group of three had a chance to leave, but as a man, how could he give up after being so humiliated by the devil. Pastor was called "U TURN", returned to the battlefield and being evil, when seeing the devil again betray oneself in the fire, he was not the slightest hesitation and fear, raised his cross went to the flames ......
can not say "good "" will overcome "evil", the disparity in strength is obvious, but the pastor has at least defeated himself, and at least there are people in the world who do not believe in evil.

The Last Exorcism quotes

  • Cotton Marcus: Exorcism is alive and well in the present age. People think of it as being a scourge of the Middle Ages that somehow went away and was cured by science, but the fact of the matter is it's never gone away. Exorcism today is bigger than it's ever been.

Justin Marcus: He fights with the demons and the vampires and all the ghosts and all the monsters.
