In Simon's mind, the world treated him so noncommittal. Passively accepting reality, he also unknowingly denied his existence. It is Simon's subconscious resistance to his environment and his humble self that split the romantic and empty personality of James's game life. It wasn't until James, who represented Simon's inner desires, that he gradually swelled to the point of completely swallowing up Simon's own character, and until he became suspicious of his inner morality and the ideal of love he insisted on, he suddenly awakened: the incarnation is completely opposite to the self. A personality, even if it becomes a strong survival / a despicable winner in life, is a more terrible loss and a more complete annihilation. He didn't realize his unique self through a stand-in, because the "I" no longer exists. "I am a ghost"
In order to save and revenge, Simon handcuffed James to the head of the bed, and then jumped from the window sill of the lover of his dream. Finally, Simon was rescued in time, and the ambulance drove to the unknown in the dark. James was still lying on the blood-stained bedside with handcuffs waiting to die. It can be said that Simon deliberately murdered James. Before jumping off the building, he severely cut his side face with the tip of a knife, and awakened James in his sleep with pain, so that he could wait helplessly for the end in fear. Simon's cruelty embodies his will to survive that he has never exploded, and he will die and be reborn. In the will of desperate situation, he may feel the unique existence of himself. Anna guarded him guiltily in the ambulance, and he had a relationship with the world.
Despite being a lonely marginal person, I did not have any sympathy for Simon. Probably because of the exaggerated sense of drama in the movie, the crisis he faces is that modern people are too common in living conditions. The only thing that made me feel soft was his notebook collaged with Anna's torn watercolors. It's like, re-gathering and collecting the broken hearts of the unreachable lover is his unique way of keeping a diary. Anna was moved by his sincerity. His soul is so lonely and delicate...
The most interesting point of the film is that when Simon spied on Anna with a binoculars, he saw the weird man standing on the eaves of her who was about to commit suicide. The man also waved his binoculars to Simon meaningfully, and Simon was embarrassed and at a loss. Waved, and then the man jumped. The current social situation is similar. We looked at each other for a second in the form of likes. You don't know what I am thinking or what I am about to do. Strangers just say hello, and then, that's it.
There is nothing to say and stop, because there is no connection between us.
